 Court Sends Nine Internet Fraudsters to Jail  in Benin City Nine internet fraudsters were on Tuesday and Wednesday April 23 & 24,  2024 convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City. The convicts are Andrew Ayakanmi Joshua, Obazee Marvellous, Osiobe Joshua, Osariemen Favour, Edosa Ovbokhan, Emmanuel Eramiokhare, Cyril Osagie, Stephen Okiosi Osaiwe and Muhammed Mudesiru Hussein They were jailed after pleading guilty to one-count separate charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, possession of fraudulent documents, retention of proceeds of crime upon arraignment by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The charge against Eramiokhare reads: “That you Emmanuel Eiramiokhae (m) sometime between 1st January 1 2019 and 4th April, 2024 within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did retain the aggregate sum of N97,392,707.75 (Ninety Seven Million, Three Hundred

A BAKERY WAS RECENTLY SEALED UP IN NIGER STATE BY NAFDAC FOR USING POTASSIUM BROMIDE.

                               Mr Anikoh Ibrahim,the State Coordinator of National Agency For Food And Drugs {NAFDAC},disclosed this today wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria {NAN} in Minna.He said the action was taken during an unscheduled visit to the bakery.Ibrahim said that the agency would continue to sensitise master bakers in the state on the danger of using substances like that for edibles.He said ''We have started inspection and sensitization visits to bakeries in Niger State,particularly those in the rural areas.When consumers see such bread in the market,they will be attracted to buy it because it is swollen owing to the patassium bromide content.Bromide causes cancer.So,we tell producers not to include it in the process of making food or edibles.Such substances are not good for our body''.He further said that the closed bakery would be reopened for business after the payment of the stipulated fine by the agency as well as proper registr

                       I just received an information from one of my blog fan and also a resident of Ikorodu town in Lagos state.She said i should inform the public to ''Please be warned that as from tuesday the 23rd to friday 26th from 11pm till 5am,movement will be restricted in Ikorodu due to their Eluku festival.Only Ikorodu indigines are allowed to behold this Eluku not every male like that of Oro,please spread this information FAR and WIDE''.

A MILITARY EQUIPMENT EXPLODED TODAY IN A WELDER SHOP AT DAMATURU,KILLING THE WELDER-MAN.

                  According to PM news,a welder was killed in his workshop today wednesday in Damaturu,Yobe state when an explosion went off.Three persons including an army officer were injured in the explosion.Investigation revealed that the explosion occurred when an army approached a welding shop to repair an equipment belonging to the military.The welder,it was gathered,brought out his equipment to state work and it exploded killing him instantly while the soldier was seriously wounded.More information later.

                 Rescue operations for survivors continue in central Italy after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake left 68 dead and 150 missing,with the number of dead expected to rise according to BBC.Strong earthquakes struck a mountainous stretch of central Italy early today wednesday,setting off tremors that awakened residents in Rome,nearly 100 miles to the southwest according to reports.A village was leveled to the ground and some of the worst damage felt in the town of Amatrice.Amatrice mayor Sergio Pirozzi told pressmen that ''The roads in and out of town are cut off..Half the town is gone.There are people under the rubble.There's been a landslide and a bridge might collapse''.My heart goes out to them all.{Tears}.More photos below.

THE DEATH OF NUNUGWO:THISDAY LIED.-EFCC.

                           The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,has been drawn to the editorial of Thisday Newspaper of August 23,2016 titled ''The Death of Citizen Nugugwo''.The attempt by This day to call attention to the unfortunate incident of the sudden death of Nunugwo,a fraud suspect of the EFCC in the said editorial appears salutary,on the surface,as the public deserves to be properly informed on the circumstances leading to his death.The EFCC appreciates this fact,and has never shied away from sharing information regarding the sad occurrence with the public.The need for openness in the handling of the issue partly informed the decision of the Commission to announce the death and provided vivid account of the chain of events before and after his demise in a press statement on June 10,2016 by its spokesperson,Wilson Uwujaren.The EFCC has come clean on this matter and will welcome investigation by any agency as it has nothing to hide.

                      In what one could describe as the most unprecedented and spectacular air raid,we have just confirmed that as a result of the interdiction efforts of the Nigerian Air Force,some key leaders of the Boko Haram terrorists have been killed while others were fatally wounded.The air interdiction took place last week friday 19th August 2016,while the terrorists were performing Friday rituals at Taye village,Gombale general area within Sambisa forest,Borno State.Those Boko Haram terrorists commanders confirmed dead include Abubakar Mubi,Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman,amongst others.While their leader,so called ''Abubakar Shekau'',is believed to be fatally wounded on his shoulders.Several other terrorists were also wounded.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relation,
