 10 killed, 48 Injured In Auto Crash On Abuja-Kaduna Highway - FRSC Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Dauda Biu has cautioned trailers against conveying human beings on top of goods in their vehicles. He also mandated Sector Commanders to strengthen enforcement and advocacy campaigns against the practice nationwide.   I took three bullets to stop Princess Anne's kidnap. On 20 March 1974, Princess Anne was ambushed by an armed kidnapper as she travelled by car to Buckingham Palace. The attack was thwarted by the bravery of a number of people, including her police bodyguard Inspector Jim Beaton, who was shot three times during the incident. Ian Ball planned to abduct the young princess and hold her ransom. He was later prosecuted for Jim’s attempted murder, as well as other offences.  Appeals court freezes Texas’ new SB4 immigration law A federal appeals court has frozen Texas' controversial immigration law, one of the toughest laws of its kind enacted by a US state in modern times. The decision came just hours after the Supreme Court allowed the measure, SB4, to take effect pending an appeal. The measure would allow officials in the state to detain and prosecute unauthorised migrants. Mexico has refused to accept any migrants deported by Texas under the new law. The Biden administration has challenged SB4, calling it unconstitutional.

The Daily Mirror claimed staff at the London Clinic - which is frequently used by royals - "attempted to access her private medical reports".  A woman was arrested and placed in handcuffs for changing the locks to her property in an attempt to remove squatters out of the $1,000,000 house she inherited from her dead parents in Queens, NY. Adele Andaloro, 47, was busted for unlawful eviction of a tenant after changing the locks last month on the $1 million home in Flushing, Queens “It’s enraging,” the homeowner said of the squatter saga. “It’s not fair that I, as the homeowner, have to be going through this.” Andaloro claims the ordeal erupted when she started the process of trying to sell the home last month but realized squatters had moved in and they brazenly replaced the entire front door and locks.  She said she got fed up, and went to her family’s home on 160th Street on Feb. 29 and called a locksmith to change the locks for her.  Dubai Police Distribute Over 71,000 iftar Meals to Motorists as part of the 'Ramadan without Accidents'   In an initiative dubbed "Ramadan without Accidents," the Dubai Police distributed 71,850 iftar meals to motorists in the first week of Ramadan, aiming to enhance road safety during the holy month.   Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, announced this effort in collaboration with various organisations, including the Department of Traffic Awareness, the General Department for Human Rights, Al Khawaneej Police Station, the Emirates Red Crescent, Dubai Charity Association, Dubai Customs, Dubai Digital Authority, Med7 Pharmacy, Life Pharmacy, and Talabat.   This initiative seeks to curb the increase in traffic accidents before iftar time, which is attributed to some drivers rushing home and potentially engaging in risky traffic violations.   The meals are distributed at high-traffic intersections by traf

 Eight Die As Tanker Capsizes Off Japan Coast Eight sailors have died after a South Korean-flagged tanker overturned off the west coast of Japan. Japan's coast guard said one other person was found in a non-life-threatening condition while two others remain missing.  The Keoyoung Sun capsized off Yamaguchi prefecture after the crew radioed for help around 07:00 on Wednesday (22:00 GMT Tuesday). The search is still on for another two sailors who were on board. The ship was reportedly at anchor because of stormy weather. The coast guard said it was carrying 980 tonnes of acrylic acid. The rescue operation has been taking place close to the city of Shimonoseki in the country's south-west. The Japanese coast guard reports that the crew consists of two Koreans, eight Indonesians and one Chinese citizen. Winds measuring up to 54km (33 miles) per hour were measured in the area on Wednesday.

 NLC Pickets Labour Party HQ, Demands Abure’s Removal The conflict between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Labour Party (LP) has taken another turn as members of the NLC, on Wednesday, picketed the headquarters of the party in the Utako area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The union members led by the acting Chairman of the Political Commission of the Congress, Theophilus Ndubuaku, demanded the immediate resignation of Julius Abure as the national chairman of the party on the ground that he was not properly elected as the national chairman of the Labour Party. The NLC political commission chairman also claimed that the planned convention of the party under the leadership of Abure is an illegal one. The planned convention which is said to be scheduled to hold at Umuahia, the Abia State capital on March 27, was alleged by the NLC to be aimed at re-electing Abure as the sole administrator of the Labour Party, with concerns of secrecy surrounding the event.
