     The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed some Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) gun trucks in air strikes conducted near Damasak in Northern Borno State. The attacks were executed yesterday, 5 January 2019, whilst providing close air support for ground troops at Damasak who were in pursuit of the terrorists who had attem pted to breach their location.       Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that 2019 General Elections will be used by Rivers people to put an end to the dictatorial tendencies of political godfathers. Governor Wike also stated that Rivers politics cannot be controlled by any single politician, because it is not a State in the South-West where a political godfather has usurped the mandate of the people.         It was a sorrowful and tearful moment in Oju at the funeral rites of eight members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who died in a ghastly motor accident on Friday, 28th December, 2018 on their way to the Zone C senatorial campaign flag-off in Agatu. Representatives, candidates for various elections and party stalwarts as well as bereaved family members battled to hold tears as they took turns to give funeral orations at the combined church service.
