 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. IFEANYI UBAH RELEASED FROM DSS DETENTION YESTERDAY NIGHT.

                                        According to sources,oil magnet Ifeanyi Ubah who had been in detention was released yesterday monday night by the DSS after a No Case was established,following a tedious investigation by the DSS in his rift qith the NNPC.The DSS had arrested Ifeanyi Ubah over his alleged connection with a claimed theft of petrol kept in his tank farm in Lagos by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.The product,it said,was valued at over N11 billionThe agency said Ubah's action amounted to economic sabotage,with ''capacity to negatively impact on national economy'',His supporters had been rejoicing ever since his release.

             Two Traffic Wardens F/No. 394120 GDI Musa Muktari and F/No. 10627 GDII Shuaibu Suleman attached to Wuse Police Division,FCT Abuja Command have been dismissed from service with immediate effect for corrupt practice.This followed an Orderly Room trial at the Provost Department,Force Headquarters Abuja in which both wardens were found guilty of abuse of office,soliciting and receiving a bribe contrary to Pargraph C sub {IV},{VI} and {II} of the 1st Schedule of the Police Act and Regulation CAP.P19.LFN 2004.               Justice O.A Adeniyi of the FCT High Court sitting in Apo,Abuja today tuesday,June 20,2017 convicted and sentenced one Micheal Ogun {a.k.a Idris Sulieman,Ibrahim Bello} to 27months imprisonment on a six-count charge of forgery and obtaining by false pretence brought against him by the Econnomic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.Ogun,allegedly poses as an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service,NCS and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC,and in that assumed capacity defrauding innocent Nigerians of their hard eearned money under the guise of securing them job in the two agencies.The job scam was reported to the EFCC by one Angela Chinwe Okeke after being duped by the defendant.In the course of thr trial,Ogun changed his plea following a plea bargain agreement.At the resumed sitting today,Justice Adeniyi asked the defendant to carefully study the plea bargain agreement.At the resumed sitting today,Justice Adeniyi asked the defendant to carefully study the plea

                   Smuggling,as we all know is a global phenomenon that cannot be eradicated entirely but can be brougt to its barest minimum.As a testament to fact,the Crack Team of the Nigeria Customs Service,Federal Operations Unit,Zone 'A' led by AC Adahunse R.A,over the weekend intercepted a DAF Truck with Reg.Num: XT 223 EKY along Lagos Ibadan Expressway based on information of un-customs goods.Physical examination revealed 220 bags of smuggled foreign parboiled rice neatly concealed with cartons of Kerosene stoves,bales of bed sheets and other household items with the intention of evading customs law.The seized items has a duty paid value of Two Million,Seven Hundred and Thirteen Thousand,Four Hundred and Ninety One Naira {N2,713,491.00} only.
