THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS SAYS TROOPS ELIMINATED OVER 100 TERRORISTS, ARRESTED 345 TERRORISTS, AND RESCUED 393 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN THE MONTH OF JULY.(PHOTO).

 The Defence Headquarters says troops eliminated over 100 terrorists, arrested 345 terrorists, and rescued 393 kidnapped victims in the month of July. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, stated this during the monthly Defence Media Operations briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Major General Onoja added that during the period under review, 57 terrorists surrendered, over 1,000 arms and assorted ammunition were recovered, 18 illegal refining sites were destroyed, while 250,500 litres of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products were recovered. Speaking further, Major General Onoja, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to the protection of lives and property nationwide, and their resolve to ensure that kidnapping, terrorism, secessionist agitation, and other forms of criminality are purged from society.

BOKO HARAM MEMBERS ON HORSEBACK,KILLED 24 PEOPLE IN BORNO STATE.

               Today wednesday,a vigilante source revealed that suspected Boko Haram gunmen on horseback killed at least 24 people in two separate attacks on villages in Borno state.The gunmen opened fire and threw explosive devices in Kolori and Ba'ana Iman,in Damboa Local Government,Born state,in the attacks on Monday evening.Although nobody has claimed responsibility and the militants are rarely on horseback,but it is strongly believed they are Boko Haram Members.

ONE OF NIGERIA RICHEST MAN DEINDE FERNANDEZ,PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY IN BELGIUM.

                           Chief Antonio Oladeinde Fernandez,passed away yesterday tuesday at the age of 79 in Brussels,Belgium following an undisclosed illness.Governor Ambode in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary Habib Aruna described the decease as a bureaucrat and experienced diplomat who gave his all to the service of the African continent during his life time.''Among other virtues,Chief Fernandez dedicated himself to the service of the African nation and will be remembered for his contribution to promote peace,harmony and above all equity.He has surely left his footprints on the sands of time.I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,the good people of Lagos State and Nigerians on this painful loss''.May his soul rest in perfect peace,AMEN.One more photo below.                             ...

A AFRICAN MIGRANT,DETAINED BY SPAIN POLICEMEN AFTER HE WAS FOUND IN A BONNET OF A CAR.

                  A Guinea migrant was found in a special compartment under the car bonnet as it crossed into Spain from Morocco and another was hidden behind the back seat of the Mercedes-300 car.Spain Guardia Civil border police discovered him crammed between the engine block and radiator after noticing that the driver of the car appeared nervous.The Africa migrant was lucky to be alive after going through the ordeal of staying very close to the car engine just to cross over to Europe.The two men from Guinea got first aid,having suffered from a lack of oxygen,The Mercedes 300 was found to have false number plates and it is not clear how long the man in the engine compartment had been inhaling the fumes from the engine.He was taken to the hospital for suffering from the effects of the intense heat and petrol fumes and doctors said he could have died if he had been there much longer.More photos below.            ...
