 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. LADY HANGS HERSELF A DAY AFTER BEING RESCUED FROM COMMITTING SUICIDE ON FRIDAY.{PHOTO}.

       A woman identified as Oluchi, has hanged herself, just a day after she made attempt to commit suicide by drinking a poisonous substance, but was rescued. The incident happened in Aku, Igbo Etiti LGA of Enugu State on Friday. According to reports, the woman was said to have suffered serious domestic violence from her husband since they wedded in 2014 which reportedly led to her developing a mental sickness. She was later abandoned by the husband, who then moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers State. All pleas that he should take care of her mental health fell on deaf ears. However, on Thursday, Oluchi took a poisonous substance to end it all, but was rescued, only to hang herself on Friday..

      Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has announced that the State Government will set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to ensure that the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) personnel who killed Dr Ferry Gberegbe, PDP Khana Collation Agent are brought to justice . Governor Wike also announced a N200million scholarship for the four children of the Late Dr Gberegbe, directing the widow of the deceased to open bank accounts for each of the four children. "We will set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to ensure that the culprits are brought to Justice. It is unfortunate that F-SARs killed the PDP Collation Agent. "The State Government will offer scholarship to the four young children left behind by the deceased. The Mother of the children should open dedicated account for each of the children.     President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the actors in the communal and persistent violence in Kaduna State to come to terms with the fact that mutual violence has no winners, but losers on both sides of the conflict. Reacting to the endless carnage in Kaduna State on Saturday, President Buhari said, "I am deeply troubled by the fact that sanctity of life is now treated with such reckless disregard that people derive joy in shedding the blood of others or perceived enemies." According to the President, "inhumanity has replaced compassion in the hearts and minds of the perpetrators of these atrocities."
