 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. NIGERIAN TROOPS OVERRUN BOKO HARAM HIDEOUT IN ABAGANARAM,KILLED 2 INSURGENTS+UNCOVER IEDS.{PHOTOS}.

      Operation Lafiya Dole troops in a Joint Counter Insurgency Operation with Cameroonian Defence Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force in the northern hinterlands of Borno State on Thursday over ran a Boko Haram hide out in Bukar Maryam and Abaganaram villages of Borno state. The gallant troops overpowered the insurgents, killing two of them and capturing 11 men after a fierce fire fight, during an operation to clear the surrounding villages of fleeing Boko Haram terrorists. The troops recovered two Multi Purpose Rocket Grenade Launcher ( Police Tear Gas Gun), one Rocket Propelled Gun Charger, two AK 47 Rifle magazines with 20 Rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and one magazine vest. Other logistics, including three motorcycles, one power generating set, a tool box, a pair of Camouflage, one military-type belt and one Boko Haram flag were also captured from the routed insurgents by the troops.        Prince Charles will walk  Meghan Markle   down the aisle tomorrow, Kensington Palace has announced. The 36-year-old was left with a gaping hole in her wedding party and a last minute decision to make when her dad sensationally dropped out due to ill health. Traditionally, it is the bride's father who walks his daughter down the aisle and presents her to the groom. The Prince of Wales will accompany 36-year-old Meghan as she walks the Quire of St George's Chapel, in Windsor, tomorrow afternoon. But it has been noted  that Meghan Markle will just be walking her father inlaw,accompanied   with just the pageboys and bridesmaids behind her.One more photo below.

N9.2M FRAUD: FORMER DEPUTY CHIEF REGISTRAR BAGS 7YEARS JAIL TERM TODAY.{PHOTO}.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal office, on Friday, May 18, 2018, secured the conviction and sentencing of a former Deputy Chief Registrar of the Oyo State High Court, Mutiat Omobola Adio.   Hon. Justice 0. M. Olagunju of the Oyo State High Court sitting in court 6, Ibadan found the convict guilty on count one of the two counts Charge preferred against her. The count which earns t he convict a jail term borders on the allegation of obtaining the sum of N9.2 million by false pretence from one Abiodun Rasheed Olonade, an Ireland based Nigerian.However, the court dismissed count two bordering on the allegations of stealing the alleged sums on the grounds that she has already been found guilty on a more grievous offence. Adio was convicted and sentenced to 7years Imprisonment on count one without an option of fine.       President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF), which is to be managed by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), and invested specifically in critical road and power projects across the country. The National Economic Council (NEC) has also, today, May 17, 2018, authorised the initial transfer of $650 million dollars to the NSIA from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Dividend Account, as seed funding for PIDF. This initiative aims to eliminate the risks of project funding, cost variation and completion that have plagued the development of the nation’s critical infrastructure assets — such as the 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos to Ibadan Expressway, East—West Road, Abuja to Kano Road, Mambilla Hydroelectric Power — over the last few decades. US REITERATES INTEREST IN EKITI ELECTION AS ENVOY VISITS FAYOSE AGAIN.

      The American Government has again said it expects nothing less than credible and fair exercise in the July 14 governorship poll in Ekiti State, saying it will closely monitor events, before, during and after the poll.       The Traditional ruling council of Ikere- Ekiti has affirmed its commitment towards the victory of its indigene and PDP gubernatorial candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola. HIGH COURT REAFFIRMS RIGHTS OF LAGOS STATE REGISTRIES TO CONDUCT MARRIAGES.{PHOTOS}.

      The Lagos High Court has issued a restraining order to the Federal Registry in Ikoyi from conducting marriages, saying it was unconstitutional for the Federal Government to be usurping the power and duties of the State and Local Governments. Delivering judgment on Suit No: FHC/L/CS/1760/16, Justice Chuka Austine Obiozor of the Lagos High Court reaffirmed that all Marriage Registries in the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State are the authentic and legally-binding government divisions established to carry out such functions. NIGERIAN ARMY ARREST SUSPECTED PIPELINE VANDALS, CULTISTS AND IMPOSTORS IN LAGOS AND OGUN STATES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Following reliable information received from some well-meaning Nigerians during Anti-Illegal Bunkering and Anti-Pipeline Vandalism patrol, troops of 81 Division Nigerian Army, in conjunction with Department of State Security, Inspector General of Police Task Force Team, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, Federal Road Safety Corp and Lagos neighborhood Safety Corps swooped on suspected pipeline vandals at Magboro in Ogun State along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on 16th May, 2018. It was gathered that, during the hours of darkness, these vandals break open petroleum pipelines to steal refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) fill up hundreds of jerricans with the products and convey them to their marketing outlets in several, trucks, trailers, buses, cars and vans. On sighting the troops approaching the said location, the armed vandals fired sporadically before abandoning their vehicles loaded with the refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and some empty jerry cans and fled to avoid
