 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. EFCC OPERATION AT PARKTONIAN HOTEL-THE TRUE STORY.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

In the early hours of Tuesday July 13, 2021 a team of operatives from the Lagos Zonal Office of the Commission, acting on verified intelligence on the activities of a suspected syndicate of internet fraudsters carried out an operation at Parkitonian Hotel in the Lekki area of Lagos. During the sting operation which was the culmination of weeks of surveillance during which the rooms occupied by the suspects were identified, 30 suspects were arrested with 24 of them already confessing involvement in cybercrimes and related activities. There was no incident as the hotel management served with the relevant Warrant offered access to the operatives, to carry out their lawful duties. However, in the course of the operation, the Operatives encountered women in some of the rooms who pleaded nudity to stop them from arresting their targets. In the early hours of today 14th July 2021 as directed by His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, over 150 Windstorm Victims registered and validated by SEMA in Nguru LGA recieved first line support.  This is in line with his Excellency drive to bring succor to the victims majority of whom are  of Low Socio-economic Status. While effort is bieng intensified to bring more support in terms of other materials to the victims and other vulnerable POCs across the state, The Executive Secretary of SEMA said "This is aimed and supporting the victims put something on thier table, reduce burden of household they are transiting and give the household heads opportunities to comfortably go out and work to repair their houses ".  I Received 900 Text Messages In One Day Over Tampering With Electoral Act – Senate President, Ahmed Lawan The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has stated that he received over 900 text messages in one day over allegations of tampering with the report of the Electoral Act. He described those accusing the leaders of the National Assembly of removing electronic transmission of results from the report as mischievous and rabble-rousers. Explaining that this is the first time the committee is submitting its report on the Electoral Act to the Senate, Lawan said, “There are various accusations and insinuations that leaders of the National Assembly have tempered with the report of the INEC committee. In one day, I received 900 text messages.”

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday  lay the foundation stone of the Kano-Abuja sector of the Lagos-Kano railway modernization project. The Lagos-Kano rail project is part of the 25-year vision approved by the Federal Government for the rail transportation in 2002. The contract for it was signed on 30th October, 2002 and assigned to a Chinese Company, China Civil Engineering Construction Company, CCECC. On October 22,2009 CCECC and the Federal Ministry of Transportation signed a supplementary agreement for the implementation of the Abuja-Kaduna segment, which was completed, commissioned and put to use by the Muhammadu Buhari administration. It was a day of glowing tributes as the Lagos State High Court, sitting in Ikeja, on Tuesday held a valedictory court session in honour of late Chief Babatunde Benson, SAN, who died on the 24th of June, 2021, at his residence in Ikorodu area of the State.  Chief Babatunde Benson, who died at the age of 89 years after serving the nation and the judicial sector meritoriously for 68 years, was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in recognition of his contributions to the development of law and nation building in 1983.  Court Jails Man Six Months For $15,000 Romance Scam In Lagos The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Ayeni Emmanuel to six months imprisonment before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. The convict was prosecuted on a one-count amended charge bordering on cheating, contrary to Section 321 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. B. Adegoke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for alleged internet fraud. Ugochukwu pleaded 'not guilty' to the two count charge of criminal diversion and impersonation preferred against him by the EFCC. The enforcement team of the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO) on Tuesday sealed 30 Water Factories across the State for various infractions ranging from unhygienic production environment, failure to comply with regulatory provisions as well as operating without adhering to good manufacturing practices. The Economic and Financial Crimes commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, launched an App, Eagle Eye, designed to ease the process of reporting economic and financial crimes in Nigeria. Speaking during the launch, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, described the App, being the first of its kind by any law enforcement agency in Nigeria, as a product of ingenuity by a staff of the Commission, being an application that was conceived, designed and developed by the EFCC. According to the EFCC chairman, the initiative is a clear demonstration of his pledge on assumption of office, to run an agency that is technology-driven. “The Eagle Eye represents a new experience in information sharing and crime reporting between the public and the EFCC”, he said.
