 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

EFCC,ICPC INAUGURATE INTEGRITY CLUBS IN 3 SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ENUGU TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

        The South-East Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC has set up Anti-Corruption and Integrity Clubs in three secondary schools across Enugu State. The Integrity Clubs were set up in October as part of the sensitization and enlightenment activities of the anti-corruption agencies and is an ongoing exercise aimed at using the National Youth Service Scheme, NYSC, Community Development Services to reach out to young Nigerians whose future are being mortgaged by corruption in every segment of the nation.      November 6, 2018 Press Statement The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expresses grave concerns over yet another attempt on the life of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who, early this morning, was attacked alongside members of his family by assailants, at his official residence in Apo, Abuja. This latest attack raises our fears that certain forces, who have been hostile to Senator Ekweremadu’s political standing, are still bent on silencing him at all cost. The PDP draws the attention of Nigerians to the series of uninvestigated security threats around the person of Senator Ekweremadu. FG EXPANDS TRADER-MONI SCHEME TO 3 ADDITIONAL MARKETS IN LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

           The Federal Government on Monday launched the special enterprise and empowerment programme otherwise known as TraderMoni in three additional markets in Lagos, with an assurance that the scheme would be extended to two million beneficiaries by December 2018 across the country.        Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, November 5, 2018, ordered a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, to return to the country within the next seven days to open his defence in an alleged N7.6bn fraud trial. Kalu is standing trial alongside his former Commissioner for Finance, Ude Udeogu and a company, Slok Nigeria Limited, on an amended 39-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N7.6bn. At the resumed hearing today, counsel to the former governor, Awa Kalu, SAN, told the court that his client had travelled to Germany for a surgical operation. He further told the court that the former governor had been advised by his doctors to remain in Germany for some time to recuperate. Counsel to the first defendant, who said the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, was aware of the development, therefore, urged the Judge to further adjourn the case.
