 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

NO PRISONER ESCAPED IN ABAKALIKI ATTEMPTED JAILBREAK.-NIGERIAN PRISONS SERVICE SAID TODAY.

                            The Comtroller-General of Prisons.Ja'afaru Ahmed has confirmed that no prisoner escaped during the attempted jailbreak in the early hours of thursday 18th August,2016.He made this disclosure while addressing the press during a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ebonyi State,David Umahi on friday 19th August,2016.The Controller General,who had earlier inspected Abakaliki prison stated that trouble started when prison officials were about to carry out routne cell-search in the morning but the inmates in a particular cell resisted the exercise.They suddenly became riotous,broke other cells and released the inmates.They eventually broke into the workshop to arm themselves with dangerous weapons and severely attacked some staff trapped in the yard while others made for the main gate and pulled it down.Meanwhile,the prisons Armed Squad and men from other security agencies on guard outside the perimeter fence were firing warning shots to deter the rampaging inma

SUICIDE BOMBERS KILLED AT LEAST 51 PEOPLE IN A WEDDING YESTERDAY IN TURKEY.{PHOTOS}.

             According to BBC,a suicide bombing which killed 51 people in the Turkish city of Gaziantep was carried put by a 12 to 14 year old,said the President ''Recep Tayyip Edogan.Mr Erdogan said the so called Islamic State {IS} was behind the attack,which targeted a Kurdish wedding party.Gaziantep,near the Syrian border,is known t have several IS cells.The bomb wounded 69 people,Mr Erdogan added,17 of them seriously.The bomber targeted the wedding guests as they danced in the street.According to a report {in Turkish} by Turkey's Dogan news agency,the couple had moved to Gaziantep from the Kurdish town of Siirt further east to escape fighting between Kurdish rebels and security forces.Today sunday morning,smashed garage doors  and windows could be seen at the site of the blast.''The celebrations were coming to an end there was a big explosion among people dancing.There was blood and body parts everywhere''. said Veli Can,25..The United States condemned t

                 Congratulations to my country Nigeria dream team who defeated Honduras 3-2 to win the 2016 Rio men's Olympics football at the Estadio Mineiro in Belo Horizonte yesterday Saturday evening wining the our country's first medal of the Ro games,The Dream Team VI was brought to victory under Coach Samson Siasia,who also coached the ''Dream Team '' that won the silver in China,Beijing Olympics in 2008.Nigeria scooped gold in 1996 to become the first African team to win the gold medal.Congratulations Nigeria i am proud of our team.{Standing ovation}.More photos below.
