  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. DELTA STATE CONFIRMS 1 LASSA FEVER CASE TODAY AND 22 PEOPLE ARE UNDER SURVEILLANCE.

                 Today it was reported that Delta state has joined the league of states currently battling the deadly Lassa fever,following the confirmation of a case of the disease in Asaba.The victim a 65 year old woman {name withheld},from Ifiogwari village,Ayamelunu,Anambra state,who was said to have come for treatment in Asaba was first admitted at St Joseph's Hospital,from where she was referred to Federal Medical Centre,Asaba when her condition worsened.The case was confirmed at the Virology laboratory Specialist Hospital,Irrua,Edo state.Two other samples sent to the same laboratory for confirmation however tested negative.According to the Delta State Rapid Response Team on Lassa fever,22 persons who had contact with the confirmed case have been placed on surveillance,while five samples have been sent for laboratory investigation.Meanwhile,the State Government has informed the Federal Ministry of Health,Abuja,on these developments and the State Governor,Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has

A DEADLY DISEASE IS REALLY CIRCULATING IN INDIA.

                                  The deadly bacteria is identified as Melioidosis lurks in India's air,water and soil and it is a highly contagious disease is widely prevalent in India,according to a new report by researchers from the University of Oxford.If not treated in time,it can lead to death within just two days of contracting it.However,diagnosing Melioidosis is particularly difficult,causing illness to largely go under reported.The report published in the Nature Microbiology journal,classified India as 'endemic but under-reported'' as a measure of its Melioidosis pervasiveness.''Some 44% of the total cases {165,000 annually}worldwide are from South Asian countries''.One more photo below.                                                                                            

TANzANIA PRESIDENT ''MAGUFULI'',BANS MINI SKIRT IN THEIR COUNTRY TODAY.

                    Tanzania President John Magufuli has banned mini skirts in their country.The move comes just a few months after the country banned ''twerking''.According to sources,the twerking dance was banned following an announcement by Cultural Development Director Herman Mwansoko.Mwansoko disclosed that twerking supposedly threatened originl dances and impactd negative on the new generation.John Magufulu seems to have followed in much the same vein,announcing that mini skirts and short dresses encourage the spread of HIV/Aids.Tanzanian women have since been given three weeks to rid their wardrobes of the ''Offending'' garments.More photos below.

                A former member of the House of Representatives,Bamidele Faparusi,has called for the immediate removal of the Central Bank Governor,Godwin Emefiele.He hinged his call for Emefiele's sack on what he described as ''Poor management of the country's forex and fluctusation of the Naira on daily basis since he {Emefiele} assumed office during Goodluck Jonathan's administration.Faparusi who represented Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2 between 2011 and 2015,said it was quite disturbing that a dollar is now being exchanged for N3010 in the parallel market,when the official rate is N198,due to inconsistency of the CBN's forex policy under Emefiele.Speaking in a chat with reporters in Ado Ekiti on Monday,the All Progressives Congress {APC} chieftain expressed dismay that alleged poor handling of the economy under Emefiele's watch has led to the collapse of many businesses.''Many businesses have been crippled because of the poor handling of the
