 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. N712 Million Fraud: You Have a Case to Answer, Court Tells Ex Gov. Lamido, Sons, Coys The Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu has dismissed the no case submission filed by a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, who is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a 37-count amended charge bordering on abuse of office and money laundering to the tune of N712, 008, 035 (Seven Hundred and Twelve Million and Eight Thousand and Thirty Five Naira. He is to open his defense on November 8-11, 2022. Ex governor Lamido was arraigned alongside two of his sons – Aminu Lamido and Mustapha Lamido; Aminu Wada Abubakar, Bamaina Holdings Ltd and Speeds International Ltd for allegedly defrauding the state. He allegedly abused his position as governor between 2007 and 2015 by awarding contracts to companies where he had interest, using his two sons as fronts.

The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 10-man arm robbery gang in connection with the bank bullion van robbery along Enugu-Portharcourt expressway near Ntigha Junction in Isiala Ngwa North Local government Area. Terrorists Abduct 40 Worshippers, Residents From Cherubim And Seraphim Church During Vigil In Kaduna, Demand N200million Ransom Terrorists stormed the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, during a vigil programme at the Bayan Kasuwa quarters of Kasuwan Magani Town, Kaduna State, the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) confirmed on Monday. The Anambra Progressives, Diaspora branch has said it will pay a sum of 20 million naira to anyone or persons who have information that would lead to the arrest of those who attempted to assassinate Senator Dr Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah at Enugu-Ukwu on September 11. According to a statement signed by Barr Dr Peter Nwosu, the Diaspora branch condemned the attack on the Convener of Anambra Progressives which claimed the lives of two of his aides and two police orderlies. Barr Nwosu said anyone with useful information to the arrest of the criminals will be rewarded with N20m.
