       The National Judicial Council held an Emergency Meeting today and considered four (4} petitions filed at its Secretariat.The Petitions are: 1. Petition against Hon. Mr. Justice W.S.N. Onnoghen,GCON by Zikhrillahi Ibrahim of Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civil Education; 2. Petition against Hon. Mr. Justice Ib rahim Tanko Muhammad,CFR by Centre for Justice and Peace Initiative. 3. Petition against Hon.Mr Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad,CFR by Olisa Agbakoba,SAN,OON; and 4. Petition against Hon. Danladi Yakubu Umar,Chairman,Code of Conduct Tribunal by Centre for Justice and Peace Initiative. Council referred the petition against Hon, Daladi Yakubu Umar to the Federal Judicial Service Commission {FJSC} which is the appropriate constitutional body empowered to deal with it.In line with its procedure,Council also forwarded the petitions against Hon.         Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Opeyemi Oke has admonished the newly appointed Magistrates in the State Judiciary to disregard all forms of interference in the discharge of their duties, warning that such intrusions could jeopardise true judicial processes. Justice Oke gave the charge at the opening of the induction programme for newly appointed magistrates at Lagos State Judiciary Training School GRA, Ikeja Lagos. She said the programme was designed to equip the participants with relevant knowledge prior to the induction programme that will subsequently be organised by the National Judicial Institute, Abuja for newly appointed Judges of the lower bench across the Country. “The induction programme is in satisfaction of the objectives and functions of the Institute as contained in the applicable provisions of the Lagos State Judicial Institute Law,” she said.       The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), has disclosed it is formalizing plans to establish a driving school in Kaduna. This was revealed by the Commandant NDA, Major General A Oyebade, during a courtesy visit by Zonal Commanding Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Kaduna Zone, Assistant Corps Mashal Ayobami Omiyale in Afaka today. General Oyebade said the driving school will be primarily to train cadets in the rudiments, theory and practical knowledge of driving.       Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has been summoned to appear before the Lagos State House of Assembly within one week over the 2019 budget, which has caused disagreement between the two arms of government. It will be recalled that Governor Ambode had sent the 2019 budget to the House in December against the tradition of laying the budget before the House. The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa told the lawmakers that it was important to give the Governor a fair hearing over the issue involving the Governor and the 2019 Budget.
