EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Pregnant woman’s death sparks controversy in Ogun A weightlifter, Oluwasola Oladunjoye, has accused Korede Hospital, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, of killing his pregnant wife, Islamiat. But the hospital has denied the claim. Oladunjoye said his wife gave up the ghost in the hospital on Sunday after complications arising from a caesarian section (CS) by a team led by two medical doctors. According to him, the doctor operating his wife allegedly abandoned her when he refused to pay an extra N150,000, in addition to the N300,000 he had been asked to pay earlier. “When we got to the hospital, we were charged N300,000 for CS. They asked me to pay another N15,000 for some tests. I was asked to make a deposit of N300,000 and another N15,000 for the test. “Later, I was invited into the theatre room. When I got there, the second doctor, he was the one who killed my wife. He told me to pay another N150,000, aside from the initial charges of N300,000. Teacher K!lled In French School Stabbing, 2 Injured 'After Suspect Shouted Allahu Akbar’ A teacher has been killed and two people have been seriously injured in a knife attack at a school in France, officials say. According to witnesses, the killer shouted "Allahu Akbar", or "God is greatest", during the attack, BBC News reports. Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said the attack happened at the Gambetta High School in the northern city of Arras at about 11:00 local time. The attacker has been arrested and is now in custody. The person killed was a French language teacher while those injured were another teacher and a security guard. The man, described as being in his 20s, is of Chechen origin and known to the security services for his involvement with radical Islam, according to police. French media reports say he was a former pupil at the school.

 You’re a w!cked person – Davido blasts Samklef for leaking video of his newborn twins Famous afrobeat musician, Davido, has blasted singer Samklef for allegedly leaking the video of his wife and their newborn twins on the internet. However, reacting to the trend, Davido, who hasn’t announced the birth, took to his Instagram page to berate Samklef, for allegedly leaking the clip. He wrote: “Delete pls, ur a wicked person. U know u’re not meant to post this. Wtf. F*cking clout chaser.” Responding to the accusation a few minutes later, Samklef clarified that he saw the video on X platform. “Me and @Davido are kool. Davido initially believed I was the one who leaked the video after our DM conversation. However, I clarified that I obtained the video from the public domain on Twitter. Wishing blessings upon your home and family.”

  NHIA Unveils NAFDAC Logo For 33 Medical Products National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has unveiled the logo the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) approved for use on 33 locally manufactured medical products for the Authority. The Director General of NHIA, Professor Mohammed Sambo unveiled the logo to newsmen in Abuja during a joint conference with NAFDAC. Professor Sambo explained that the collaboration was to ensure that subscribers have access to affordable and quality drugs, adding that it would solve the problem of out-of-stock syndrome in the nation’s health facilities. The NHIA DG further said the authority was working with relevant agencies in the production and distribution of the drug to secure its quality.  Borno Government Bans Mining Activities Borno State Government has banned all forms of mining activities in the state. In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar says the ban is due to the fragile security situation in the state.  The statement explains that government is mapping and securing the mine sites with a view to ensuring law, order and safety of lives.  It adds that a governance protocol for the mining sector is being developed in the state with a view to sanitizing the industry. "Government will soon issue a code of conduct and standard operating procedure for the mining value chain to guide the sector" Professor Tar says. The Commissioner urges stakeholders in the mining sector to abide by the directive, as any violation will attract the wrath of the law.

NSCDC Arrests Imposter Doctor In Zamfara  The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has succeeded in arresting an imposter Medical doctor who was practicing at Yariman Bakura specialists Hospital, Gusau, capital city of Zamfara state. Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, CDPRO, SC Ikor Oche who paraded the suspect Muhammad Naziru Mode using fake name as Dr Ibrahim or Dr IBB. SC Oche said the imposter Gynaecologist doctor had been parading himself as medical doctor for three months examining patients at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital where he also examined married women. He said that Naziru Mode, hailed from Yar hanya area in Gusau, defrauded many patients by presenting himself as a doctor in the Department of Gynecology. While fielding questions from newsmen, the fake Doctor Muhammad Nazir Mode who is a tailor who sewed clothes at Tudun Wada area in Gusau has confessed to the crime amidst tears, saying it was a mistake, and pleaded guilty.  The civil Defence Pub
