  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                                According to a spokeperson Mubarak for the Bulgarian foreign ministry said today wednesday that ''Six Bulgarians working with the UN's World Food Programme {WFP} were detained by Sudanese rebels after their helicopter made an emergency landing in Sudan's war-torn South Kordofan province.The three member crew of the helicopter and three officers of Sofia based Heli Air,the carrier that operated it,were being detained.The flight which was scheduled from South Sudan to Khartoun,flew into an active combat zone in South Kordofan that has been subject to bombings by the government''According to the rebels spokesperson  Mubarak Ardol said ''We just wanted to confirm they were not linked to the Khartoun regime.We are currently in contact with the UN and the WFP to organise their release.Once we confirm that they are fact working with the UN's WFP and not for the benefit of the Sudanese government,we are fully prepared to releas
