OSUN: ADELEKE, ASSEMBLY LOSE AS COURT AFFIRMS JUSTICE OJI AS CHIEF JUDGE. (PHOTO).

 Osun: Adeleke, Assembly lose as court affirms Justice Ojo as Chief Judge The National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed Justice Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of Osun State. The decision was contained in a judgment delivered by Justice Peters in a suit numbered NICN/IB/62/2023, on Wednesday in Ibadan. The court granted all the reliefs sought by the Osun Chief Judge against the Osun State Government and Osun State House of Assembly, including an order of perpetual injunction restraining both the executive and legislative arms of government from removing her as the number one judicial officer in the state. Matters came to a head between the Osun State Government and Justice Ojo in 2023 when the Osun Assembly passed a motion suspending her as Chief Judge of the state.          Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu has commiserated with families, friends and associates of the victims of the unfortunate helicopter crash in Opebi, Lagos. In a condolence message signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile on Friday, Governor Sanwo-Olu promised that his Government would work with all the relevant Federal Government agencies to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the accident so as to prevent a re-occurrence in the future. The Governor advised residents of Opebi and its surrounding to go about their business peacefully saying, “there is nothing to fear as men and officers of the State emergency services were promptly deployed to the scene of the crash and they had brought everything under control. The environment is also safe and secure.” The Governor prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the families they left behind the fortitude the bear the irreplaceable loss.

        More details have emerged concerning the helicopter crash that occurred in the residential part of Opebi in Lagos on Friday, August 28. Two persons died while the third victim is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. A statement released by Quorum Company, owners of the helicopter, says all three victims of the crash were crew members and were flying from Port-Harcourt to Lagos when it crashed between two buildings in Ikeja en-route to Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The statement in part reads... “As soon as we received news of the accident, we promptly informed the aviation authorities, Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Preliminary reports indicate that of the three souls on board – all crew, two of the crew members lost their lives whilst the third one is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. We have been made to understand that nobody in the building, nor in the vicinity was injured for which we are grateful

       The Port Harcourt Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday August 26, 2020 arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects are: Sotonye Orugbane; David Egbunugwu; Emmanuel Chinemerem; Providence Oliver Samuel and Emmanuel Fidelis Nwambu. Others are: Promise Nkwachi; Micah Nimi, Precious Ogadinma and Ebi Micah. They were apprehended in an early morning raid on their hideout in Ozuoba by Obirikwere Road, Choba; NTA Road and Ada George Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Investigations indicate that the suspects specialize in love scam, online Bitcoin scam, identity theft, trading scam, among others. Items recovered from them include Sixteen (16) Mobile phones of different brands; one (1) HP laptop; two (2) Apple watches and two (2) Vehicles :One Lexus ES 350 with registration number Abuja KUJ 412 AT and one Toyota Camry 2.4 with registration number Abuja KWL 35 AT .
