 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                According to PM News,who reported that ahead of the Affordable Housing Summit which opens tomorrow monday in Abuja,the Minister of Power,Works and Housing,Mr Babatunde Fashola SAN,has given an insight into how the Federal Government plans to achieve a sustainable housing programme for the country saying it is only through standardization of designs,even while taking into cognizance the cultural preferences of the nation's geopolitical zones,that industrialization and mass housing can be possible.Fashola,who met with National Assembly Committees on Housing to present the Implementation Plan of the 2016 Budget as it concerns the National Housing Programme during the week,said although there could be the desire out there that government should rush out and do what everybody has done in the past,and probably end up with the same old results,the forcus of the present administration was more on a sustainable housing plan.The Minister,who cited two housing models,Singapore

                                                    Troops of 21 Brigade and Civilian JTF today conducted a fighting patrol to Zangebe,Maiwa,Algaiti and Msinari villages in which they killed 6 Boko Haram terrorists and wounded several others.The troops also liberated over 5,000 persons held hostages by Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 5 motorcycles and similar number of bicycles.Similarly,troops of 7 Division Garrison Rapid Deployment Force {RDF}II,in conjunction with some of elements of Mobile Police Force and Civilian JTF today also conducted Boko Haram terrorists clearance operations Masu Yiwa,Ladin Buta,Bazaka,Kesa Gala,Tabla,Fahinde,Shirori,Gizina,Maska Aribe,Maska and Maska Lawanti villages,all in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.During the clearance operations,the troops encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Maska Lawanti in which they killed 2 terrorists and recovered 2 motorcycles.Unfortunately,we lost 1 Civilian JTF,while a soldier and 1 Mobile Policeman were wound

                         Tunisia government is planning to implement visa-free entry to Chinese citizens.Tunisia country's tourist numbers have dropped sharply following attacks on tourists within its borders.That means a revenue drop for Tunisia of more than 35 percent.The government is trying to broaden its tourist base so it doesn't rely so much on the European market.More photos below.

9 MUSICIANS,DROWNED IN A RIVER YESTERDAY IN KENYA.{PHOTO}

                         According to sources,nine members of a musical band drowned yesterday saturday in Kenya when a boat they were travelling in capsized in the Kenyan waters of Lake Victoria.The nine were part of a musical band that was headed to an evening performance when the boat capsized just 20 minutes away from the shore.Regional Deputy Commissioner Angelina said ''The boat was overloaded because it was also carrying heavy music equipment .We rescued eight people and shall start a search for the nine''.They were 14 in number and the picture above shows some of the musicians that survived.One more photo below.
