  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                                     Today thursday,convicted ex-beauty queen,Ibinabo Fiberesima failed in her bid to secure bail at the Court of Appeal,Lagos Division,due to an incompetent application.A three man panel of the Appeal Court presided over by Justice U.I Ndukwe Anyanwu observed that the appellant failed to attach copies of the judgement delivered by the court last friday,which affirmed the five years jail sentence imposed on her by a Lagos High Court in Igbosere.Other Judges on the panel are Justice Samuel Oseji and Justic Tijani Abubakar respectiveli.The Actor's Guild of Nigeria {AGN} president has also told the Supreme Court that she is recuperating from breast surgery and that staying in prison would endanger her life.When the matter came up today thursday at the Appeal Court,Ibinabo's lawyer,Nnaemeka Amaechina informed that court of his client's application dated March  1 4,which had already been served on the Lagos State Government {respondent}.However,the

                The Ulthukela District Municipality in Kwazulu Natal province,has come under fire for offering scholarships to a handful of college age girls,only if they can prove they are virgins.Many critics have branded the bursary as misogynistic and unconstitutional,with Dudu Mazibuko,the district's mayor,being the main target of criticism.Mazibuko however insists the programme sterms from prevalent health issues:in which half the district's young women are either teen mums or infected with HIV.He said ''Two,three our even four children at the age of 25,So we need to do something as a country,as a society.So as a leader in this community,it's my responsibility that we do something for the these young girls''.Despite the backlash,the mayor is fast gaining supporters in other provinces.In Tembisa township in Johannesburg for instance,a virgin group,the Amatshitshi Empela group,fully supports the scheme and hopes to soon be giving out bursaries.For the yo

                      According to U.N spokesman Stephane Dujarric said today thursday that Morocco wants 84 United Nations and African Union international civilian staff working with the world body,to leave within three days.He said about three of the people on the list submitted by the Moroccan mission to the United Nations were with the African Union and the rest were U.N staff.U.N political affairs chief Jeffrey Feltman is due to brief the Security Council on the situation later today thursday.One more photo below.                                                                                                                                            

A FEMALE KIDNAPPER WAS BEATEN & STRIPPED OFF HER DIGNITY AT DOPEMU,2 DAYS AGO.{PHOTOS}.

                                                        According to sources,on the  1 5th March 20 1 6,this suspected female kidnapper pictured above was apprehended and stripped naked at the Dopemu area of Lagos state and she was caught while allegedly trying to kidnap a child.According to sources,the resident of the area beat her mercilessly before she was handed over to the police.Na wahooo.More photos below.

MILE 12 LEADERS & TRADERS CONSENTED TO THE BAN OF OKADA AND RELOCATION OF THE MARKET,YESTERDAY.

                  Realizing the strong need to move the popular Mile  1 2 narket from its present location,community leaders and traders in the area yesterday wednesday agreed  with the plan of the State Government to relocate the market to another suitable and more convenient location within the state.The leaders and traders also consented to the ban on use of commercial motorcycle popularly called okada as a means of commercial transportation in the area.The community leaders said the decision became imperative owing to the fact that the Mile  1 2 market which had been in existence for decades has outgrown its present location and available infrastructure,hence the need to reason with government.While addressing a press conference at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre,Alausa,the traders and community leaders said they were in total support of the ban on Okada because of the flagrant disobedience to traffic laws by the riders and the frequent road accidents which had resulted in many dea
