 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

PROTESTERS FROM ETI-OSA SHUT DOWN AMBODE'S OFFICE TODAY AFTER 800 STRUCTURES WERE DEMOLISHED.{PHOTOS}.

                   According to sources,activities at the offices of the Lagos State Governor and House of Assembly were today tuesday paralysed as residents of Otodo-Gbame Community,Eti-Osa Local Government,barricaded the governor's office in protest over killing and demolition of over 800 structures within the community.The protest was the second after the first held on Monday by the residents,to express their displeasure over the demolition of structures in the over 100 year old community.Both entrances to the office of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the House of Assembly were barricaded.Scores of protesters also barricaded the Mobolaji Johnson Way and governor's road as they chanted several songs to express the hardship they had been subjected to.This development prompted the policemen attached to the office to shoot at the protesting residents to scare them away from the entrance.Mr Muhammed Zana,who spoke on behalf of the protesters said ''Officials of the Director

                       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.EFcc today tuesday 15,November 2016,arraigned the duo of Patrick Shanchi Nwokike and his wife Rosemary Ifeoma Nwokike along with their company 'lets Partner With You Limited'' before Justice Dugbo R.O Oghoghorie of the Federal High court Enugu,on a four count charge bothering on Advanced Fee Fraud and Carrying Out Banking Business without valid License,an offence which runs contrary to the provisions of SECTION 2{1} of the BANKS AND OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ACT. While taking their plea,the accused persons pleaded not guilty on all counts of the four count charge preferred against them by the EFCC.The Defense Counsel Barr. Orji Nwafor-orizu quickly applied for bail for the accused persons on the grounds that the offence was a bailable one andd he prayed the court to grant bail on liberal terms.But the Prosecuting Counsel Barr.                  It was reported today that Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck has said h will not change the city's stance on illegal immigration,despite President-elect Donald Trump's threat to remove millions of foreigners when he enters office.The LAPD's top cop told Los Angeles Times yesterday monday that his officers are not going to engage in Law enforcement activities solely based on somebody's immigration statud.'.Bck says it is not the LAPD's job to work in conjunction on deportation with Homeland Security-and that's not going to change.He also said deportation was a 'monumental' task,considering there are roughly 500,000 illegal immigrants in the city alone.It has been department policy for decades not to initiate contact with someone solely to determine whether they are in the country legally.During Beck's tenure he has avoided turning over people with questionable immigration status who are arrested for low-level crimes.Beck also
