 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

INTERNET FRAUDSTER BAGS TWO YEARS JAIL TERM IN WARRI.{PHOTO}.

                                                    A Federal High Court sitting in Warri,Delta State has convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonmene one Igofose Oyoma.Ighofose was first arraigned by the EFCC,on 3rd May,2016 on a seven count charge bordering on Conspiracy,Forgery and Obtaining Money by False Pretence to the tune of Nine Thousand Two Hundred United States Dollars {$9,200}.Upon his arraignment,the convict pleaded not guilty to the charge,but later changed his plea to ''guilty''.Justice E.A Obile consequently convicted Ighofose and sentenced him to two years imprisonment with an option of N300,000.00 {three hundred thousand naira} fine to be forfeited to Federal Government.He also ordered that the payment receipt be deposited to the court registry.Ighofose was arrested sometime in May,2015 in Calabar,Cross River State following intelligence report on his involvement in Internet scams.

OGUN STATE SIGNS AGREEMENT FOR AFRICA'S SECOND LARGEST REFINRY YESTERDAY WITH 4 COMPANIES.{PHOTOS}.

                         The Ogun State Government,on wednesday,signed an agreement with a consortium of four private companies to build the second largest refinery in sub-Saharan Africa and the largest petroleum product depot in Nigeria.The Chairman,Petrolex Group,Mr Segun Adebutu who led other partners in the consortium to the office of the Ogun State Governor for the agreement signing ceremony,said the two projects,when completed would generate not less than 2000 employment opportunities for the citizens and greatly increase the socio-economic condition of the state.He said thee refinery is situated in the Odogbolu Local Government Ara of the State.Speaking during the ceremony,Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,assured the consortium of his administration's commitment to fully support the project.''We habe the political will and we would support the project fully.You can be rest assured that I will get involved,when necessary,in order to ensure that the project

NIGERIAN TROOPS AMBUSH BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS YESTERDAY AT BULABULIN.{PHOTOS}.

                                                                      Yesterday wednesday 28th September 2016,in the morning,troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on patrol came across some elements of Boko Haram terrorists and wounded several others.They also captured 2 AK-47 Rifles,2 Hand Grenades,1 Improvised Explosive Device,5 Jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit and 9 motorcycles.However,the troops hand held radio was badly damaged during the encounter.The troops would continue the clearance operation of the remnants of the Boko Haram in all the nooks and crannies of their areas of operation with renewed vigour and determination.                          Justice A.S. Umar of the FCT High Court sitting in Msitama yesterday wednesday,September 28,2016 granted bail to a former Chief of Naval Staff,Vice Admiral Usman O. Jubrin and two others for an offence bordering on criminal conspiracy brought against them by the EFCC.Others are Rear Admiral Bala Mshella {rtd} and Rear Admiral Sheu Ahmadu {rtd}.They were docked alongside Harbour Bay International Limited by the anti-graft agency on tuesday,September 27,2016.The naval chiefs,whilst in office,allegedly bought a hiuse worth N600 million from the account of Naval Engeineering Services without the said purchase contract being captured in the budget.More photos below.
