 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.      The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay have finished a wonderful three days of engagements in Scotland. Yesterday, Their Royal Highnesses joined guests at Dumfries House for a tea party to celebrate the stately home's 10th anniversary - The Duke and Duchess had a great time on the dance floor!. Today marked a big day for the   Royal Navy 's new aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales as it was officially named by The Duchess of Rothesay, Lady Sponsor of the ship.The Duchess took part in  the traditional naming ceremony, which included signalling for a bottle of whisky to be smashed against the hull of the ship, as is tradition in Scotland!. Their Royal Highnesses also visited a number of communities and organisations in Scotland, including Emergency One, a manufacturer of emergency service vehicles.More photos below.

         Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has urged Yoruba leaders to guide against enemies within their ranks that are out to rubbish their efforts at calling for the restructuring of the country. He stated this in Ibadan during a meeting of Yoruba leaders tagged "Yoruba standpoint on restructuring." The occasion was convened by Dr Kunle Olajide and chaired by Aare Afe Babalola (SAN). A statement from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, quoted the governor as saying that it was unfortunate that efforts by some people to move the Yoruba land forward were being thwarted by some people within the race. An Australian returnee, Stephen Ogho-Oghene Akp ata, who had spent 27 years in Australia has been arrested by the Police in Bayelsa State for killing his wife Onyinye,an Employee of Glo Network after making love to her for about an hour. Akpata, who confessed to committing the dastardly act when paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo, was arrested in Lagos following his failed attempt to flee to Ghana.The Suspect confessed that he made love to the deceased at about 5am to 6am on the fateful day before killing her following suspicion of infidelity through a message he saw on her phone. He also confessed to stabbing her with a knife on the neck and shoulder.The suspect also revealed that he has served in various detention centers in Australia.More photos below.

ANAMBRA-BASED BUSINESSMAN SUES NNAMDI KANU,IPOB OVER ELECTION BOYCOTT.

       A business man in Anambra, Dr. Richard Ndubuaku, has sued the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court in Abuja over their plan to boycott the forthcoming gubernatorial election of the state. He is seeking for an injunction from the court in the suit with number FHC/ABJ/ CS/756/2017 to restrain Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB from boycotting the Anambra State gove rnorship election scheduled to hold on November 18. According to Ndubuaku if Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB are allowed to proceed with the planned election boycott, it could result into irreparable damages to him and other innocent citizen who have properties and businesses in Onitsha and other part of the state. POLICE HAS DESTROYED KIDNAPPERS CAMPS IN LAGOS STATE-CP.

                 Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal has declared that there is no more kidnappers’ camp in Lagos State following the destruction of over 200 camps hitherto operated by the men of the underworld. Mr. Edgal, stated this on Thursday at a workshop tagged “Towards a Safe and Secured Learning Environment”, organized by the State Government in Ikeja for Principals, Vice Principals, Counsellors and Hostel Ma ster on safety and security, noting that kidnapping was not peculiar to Lagos State or Nigeria. He informed that kidnapping in Lagos State was mainly for ransom collection because the kidnappers were formerly armed robbers and pipeline vandals who were frustrated by the fierce battle with the Police. The Commissioner also said the non-occurrence of a single bank robbery in the State within the last two years underscored the successful efforts of the Lagos State Police Command.         The IGP Ibrahim Idris has inaugurated the new state police command headquarters donated by the Nasarawa State government. Idris, while inaugurating the new edifice on Thursday in Lafia, lauded Gov. Umaru Al-Makura for identifying with the Nigerian Police Force by providing the facility at a critical period of challenges to the security system. He said the intervention by the state government would go a long way to enhance the operational capacity of the police in the state. “We assure the state governor of maximum usage of the edifice to ensure that our citizens are adequately protected at all times,” Idris said.
