EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

A FULL LOADED CONTAINER,FELL AND KILLED ALL THE PASSENGERS IN A BUS TODAY IN OGUN STATE.

                                  According to eyewitnesses,a container fell and crushed a fully loaded commuter bus,killing all the passengers of the bus today friday afternoon in Ogunstate.The incident occurred on Sagamu/Benin expressway at Llishay,very close to Sagamu junction.The occupants of the bus were mainly students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University,OOU Ago Iwoye,who were said to be on their way to Lagos.Eyewitness said the truck driver drove against traffic and the bus driver collided with the truck and killed all the occupants including the bus driver.The remains of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital,OOUTH,Sagamu.

                                  In a statement signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation Danladi Kifasi,President Buhari dissolves NNPC board and he also thanked the members of the dissolved board for their services to the nation and wished them the best in their future endeavours.The list of the directors that were relieved from their jobs according to the NNPC website are identified as Dr Joseph T Dawha,Group Managing Director.Mr Bernard O.N Otti,Group Executive Director,Finance & Accounts,Dr Dan Efebo,Group Executive Director.Corperate Serverice: Alhaji Abdullahi Bukar,member,Mr Danladi Wadzani,member,Pro Olusegun Okunnu,member,Mr Steven Oronsaye,member and Ikechukwu Oguine,Coordinator,Legal services/secretary to the corporation.

FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA SACKS IDU GODWIN,ONITSHA HOUSE OF REP MEMBER YESTERDAY.

                  Justice Adeniyi Ademola,a Federal High Court Judge sitting in Abuja yesterday thursday,gave an order of the removal of a member of the House of Representative Idu Godwin,who is representing Onitsha North/South Federal constituency from the house and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC},to withdraw the certificate of return issued to him and issue a fresh certificate of return to Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu who was declared the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} at the April 11,2015velection.The judge gave the order while delivering judgement on a pre-election suit instituted by the plaintiff.The court also ordered the National Assembly specifically the House of Representatives to swear in the plaintiff {Lynda Ikeazu} as a member of the house.Lynda Chuba Ikeazu,who won the PDP primary election conducted on December 7,2014 had in the suit challenged her substitution with Idu Godwin by the Party.

AT-LEAST 27 PEOPLE WERE SHOT DEAD TODAY,BY GUNMEN WHO ATTACKED A HOTEL RESORT IN TUNISIA.

                 Today friday,it was reported that at least nineteen people have died after an attack on a hotel in the Tunisian beach resort of Sousse.The attacks was on the Imperial Marhaba Hotel.A security source at the scene said the body of one gunmen armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle lay where police had shot him dead.It was unclear whether there were other assailants.Tunisia has been on high alert since March when militants killed 22 people,mainly foreign tourists,in an attack on a museum in the capital Tunis.Sousse is one of Tunisia's most popular beach resorts,drawing visitors from Europe and neighbouring North African countries.More photos below from the attack.
