Business Mogul, Aminu Dantata’s Wife Dies In Saudi Arabia The wife of elder Statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Hajiya Rabi Aminu Dantata, is dead. The deceased, who was popularly addressed as Mama Rabi is the mother of one of the popular children of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Tajuddedn Dantata. According to a family source, she died at a hospital in Jiddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday. She was said to have battled a prolonged illness. Mama Rabi was the second wife of the foremost elder statesman. She died in her late 70s and left behind her husband and six children, among whom are; Tajjuddeen Dantata, Batulu Dantata, Hafsa Dantata, Jamila Dantata and Aliya Dantata. Owo Church Reopens 10 Months After Deadly Attack St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, reopened for religious activities on Sunday, ten months after it was shut down, following a deadly attack by gunmen. On June 5, 2022, gunmen attacked the church and killed some of the worshippers while several others were severely injured. The attack left at least 40 worshippers dead with others injured.  More photos below.

Ibadan-based Vendor Found Dead In Ibadan Hotel A popular Instagram cloth vendor identified as Adeshina Olayinka popularly known as Khadi was found dead at a popular hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State. Olayinka is known for her designer clothes and bag business on social media. According to Oyo affairs, she informed her friend of a meeting with an individual at Wetland Hotel in Akobo on the night of Wednesday 5th of April. The man she was with, however, checked out early on Thursday morning which was followed by a phone call to Khadi’s room and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist. Unfortunately, Khadi was found dead hours later when the receptionist reached out to inform her of her already overstaying.

Police arrest another Kuje jail escapee in Nassarawa •Arrested Kuje jail escapee Salisu Buhari   By SUNDAY JOHN The police command in Nassarawa State has arrested Salisu Buhari, one of the inmates of Kuje Correctional Centre who escaped from the facility during the July 2022 jail break. This is contained in a statement signed by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) on Sunday in Lafia. Nansel said that Buhari was arrested with his friend Zubairu Ali for allegedly snatching a motorcycle in Nasarawa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. “On April 6, at about 10:00 p.m., police operatives attached to Nassarawa Division arrested the fugitive and one other for motorcycle theft. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are responsible for most motorcycle snatching and theft in Nasarawa LGA and its environs. “Upon interrogation, Salisu Buhari confessed to have escaped from Kuje Correctional Centre when the facility was attacked last year. “The escapee

15 killed, burnt beyond recognition in Enugu highway crash 9 April 2023  All the 15 occupants of a Toyota bus were killed and burnt beyond recognition on Saturday when the bus had a head-on collision with a Mercedes truck on the Port Harcourt-Enugu Highway. Spokesman of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the accident in a statement he issued on Sunday in Abuja. Kazeem stated that the accident took place at the Enugu end of the highway at about 8.20 p.m. “The victims have been given mass burial. All obstructions have been cleared. Enugu State Fire Service already extinguished the fire in the bus. “The fatal crash is blamable on several factors including fatigue, which must have made one of the drivers to sleep on the wheels,” he stated. Father, two sons attack FRSC officials, burn down patrol van 9 April 2023 The Police, in Bauchi, have arrested a 60-year-old man and his two sons, for allegedly attacking and injuring an operative of the Federal Road Safety Corps during patrol. They were also said to have set the FRSC patrol van ablaze. The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, while confirming the incident to journalists in a telephone conversation, said that the FRSC operatives who were on duty, along Bauchi-Gombe road, stopped the suspects but the driver refused to stop.  NYSC fixes date for Batch A stream 2 registration  9 April 2023  The National Youth Service Corps has announced the dates for the 2023 Batch A Stream II online registration exercise. This was announced in a post on the Corps official Twitter page on Saturday. The scheme announced that the registration would commence on Tuesday April 11, until Monday, April 17, 2023. It was reported that the Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, had in March unveiled a 22-man Inter-Ministerial committee to oversee the 50th year anniversary of the scheme, scheduled to hold in May.
