 Abuja Court Jails Two Internet Fraudsters The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 secured the conviction and sentence of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms. The convicts, Adeleye Olanrewaju and Ayo Olaosebiomo were convicted by Justice I. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory,  FCT,  High Court Gwagwalada on a one- count charge each. The lone- count charge against Olanrewaju  reads: ‘that you Adeleye Olanrewaju sometime in 2024 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court committed the offence of cheating by personation when you pretended to be one Lolita Gonzale293 female American citizen when you created a fake Instagram account for love scam and benefitted the sum of $460 (Four Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars) from your victim John Alonzo and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 321 and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004”.   They both

Two Convicted for Cyber-fraud in Abuja The EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command on Friday, July 8, 2022, arraigned the duo of Musa Thankgod Precious and Agbo Victor Nduh before Justice N.I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court Lafia, Nasarawa State for their involvement in internet related fraud. Musa, 21, impersonated one Alex Andrew from Italy using fake Instagram and Facebook accounts with the intention of obtaining Malaysian Ringgit 10,000 (Ten Thousand Malaysian Ringgit), while Agbo, a 23-year-old electrician, using  the Instagram app, pretended to be one David Smith, an   American, with the intent to gain advantage for himself. Both pleaded guilty to the one count charge preferred against them.

19-YEAR OLD STUDENT OF OAU HAS BEEN DECLARED MISSING IN IBADAN.(PHOTO).

A 19-year-old student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Jamila Ayo Abu, has been declared missing in Ibadan.    The 100-level student was said to have left her parents' home at Ireakari Estate, along Akala-Expressway, Ibadan, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, for unknown destination and did not return home.    According to Jamila's mother, Mrs Abu, she complained of headache and that was why she could not follow her to the office.    "When I got home on Wednesday evening, I met her mobile phone on the table, and I became worried when I could not see her within and even in the neighbourhood. I have been trying to know her whereabouts but the effort has not yielded any fruit," she said.    "We waited for some hours and when we didn't see her, we had to report the incident to the police formally.   "I will be very happy if we can get any vital information on her whereabouts. People on Twitter are currently attempting to ban former presidential aide Reno Omokri on twitter for writing a comment many felt could incite the Hausas against the Igbos following presidential candidate Peter Obi's interview on Arise TV on Wednesday June 6th.  In the interview, Obi partly said "The comment from my respected elder brother, Kwankwaso, is the reason why we have 100 million Nigerians living in poverty (and) the reason why we have 18 million Nigerian children out of school. It is the reason why we have over 55% of Nigerians on the under or unemployment ladder. Gov of Yobe Mai Mala Buni has donated the sum of 300 Saudi Riyals to each of the State Pilgrims performing the 2022 Hajj exercise. The donation is to support cushion the high cost of Rams this year. Alh. Bukar Kime, executive Chairman of the State Pilgrims Commission, stated this today at Arafat, Saudi Arabia. Kime called on the Pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by offering special prayers on this special day of Arafat to the State and the Country at large. The governor prayed for a successful Hajj exercise and Sallah celebrations at home. Gov. Buni had in the past Hajj exercise made similar donations to Pilgrims from the state.

MOMENT SECURITY TACKLED AND ARRESTED SUSPECT WHO SHOT EX-PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN 'SHINZO ABE '.(PHOTOS).

This is the moment security tackled and arrested a suspect who is believed to have shot former prime minister Shinzo Abe in front of Yamatosaidaiji Station in Nara, Japan. ⁠ ⁠ Abe collapsed after shots were heard while he was campaigning at a rally. He is now reported to be to be dead. Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was killed while giving a speech in support of the Liberal Democratic Party candidates. He was also the longest-serv prime minister in Japan's history. He was a major promoter of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, as well as having been a fully open prime minister to the world, pushing for reforms that would reinterpret the postwar pacifist constitution.  Japanese police have detained a suspect in the attack, Identified as 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, who reportedly belonged to the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. Igbo youths demand apologies from Soludo, IGP over assault on Odumeje The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has demanded an immediate apology from the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba over an assault on Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje by officers of the Nigerian police. DAILY POST recalls that Odumeje’s church, Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha was demolished on Thursday for being built on a drainage channel. Anambra State Government Continues Onslaught Against Illegal Structures, Shanties In Onitsha Government of Anambra State has continued the demolition of illegal structures and shanties at Fegge, Onitsha. The taskforce arrived Akunnia Ojote waterways at Fegge around some minutes past eleven am. On arrival, it was observed that some residents around the area built on waterways which has over the time caused water to pass through wrong channels thereby destroying people's properties and lives risked. Speaking to the press, some of the residents including Mr. Louis Mbanefo expressed happiness over government efforts to tackle the issue of flood in the area. They called on government not to relent in the good work they have started.
