EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

RATS CHEWED A 4 MONTHS OLD BABY TO DEATH,IN MEXICO ON MONDAY.

                 Rats chewed a four month old baby to death after her 18 year old baby mother left her at home to go to a party.The little girl's face and fingers were mauled by the rodents as she lay in the crib at home in Acolman,Mexico on monday night.It was not until the teenage mother,Lizbeth Jeronima Fuentes Munguia,returned home after midnight that she discovered the child blooded and lifeless in her crib.First responders pronounced the baby dead at the scene.Lizbeth and her mother,who was babysitting the child,were arrested on suspicion of neglect.According to neighbours who gathered round the family's home on tuesday,Lizbeth was a single mother.She had been out of the house for two hours to attend a party in the nearby region of Otumba.Charges against the mother have yet to be announced pending the results of an autopsy on her daughter's body.One more photo below.                                                                                                      

A SWISS WOMAN WAS ABDUCTED IN MALI YESTERDAY FOR THE SECOND TIME.

                Yesterday thursday,a woman {Beatrice Stockly} was kidnapped from a house in Northern Mali town of Timbuktu turns out to be a Swiss citizen,that is according to the Malian army spokesman Souleymane Maiga said today friday.He gave no further details about her kidnap.Sources claimed that she is the same missionary who was held for more than a week by Islamist gunmen in 2012 when the north had been taken over by groups linked to al-Qaeda.On that occasion the woman was freed with the help  of mediators from neighbouring Burkina Faso.More photos below.                                         

ABOUT 50 PRISONERS,ESCAPED FROM D.R CONGO PRISON YESTERDAY.

                        About 50 prisoners according to CCTV have escaped from a prison in the Democratic Republic of Congo {DRC}.The inmates took advantage of a fire incident to break out of the jail yesterday thursday in the town of Kamituga,170 kilometres south-west of Bukavu,the capital of south Kivu province.The escaped prisoners include 20 convicted men,two for murder and 18 for rape.None of them have been captured yet.

THE HOME OF THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY IN BAYELSA STATE,WAS BOMBED TODAY.

               Today friday at about 4:00am,the home of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,Rt.Hon.Benson Friday Konbowei in Korkosei,was bombed,just one day to the supplementary governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa state.More details on this story but meanwhile,at least 8,000 security personnel comprising the Army,Navy,Police and Civil Defence have been deployed to Bayelsa for the Southern Ijaw supplementary election tomorrow saturday.

ARMED YOUTHS,STORMS DELTA STATE SHOPRITE TODAY.

                   It was reported today friday that shoppers and workers were trapped today as protesting youths took over the Delta shopping Mall in Effurun,Uwvwie Local Government Area of Delta state.The police has confirmed the incident to news men and said the youths are protesting over lack of employment opportunities and other benefits.The popular mall is located at Effurun roundabout on the gateway to the East and South states.But shop owners at the mall have begun to count their loses after today friday morning invasion by the armed youths,though the mall is now experiencing peace the incident scared alot of customers away.One more photo below.
