EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

MINISTRY OF INTERIOR PRESS RELEASE  FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO END STATELESSNESS IN 2024  The Federal Government has restated it's determination to eradicate statelessness by 2024. This position was stated by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Friday, during the launching and inauguration of high power steering committee on National Action Plan on eradication of statelessness in the country. The Minister argued that statelessness which diminishes human dignity does not  exist even in the animal kingdom.  "Stateless persons usually have no legal protection and no right to vote. They lack access to education, employment, healthcare, registration of birth, marriage or death and property right. They are vulnerable to exploitations and human trafficking, Aregbesola said" He added that statelessness is a global challenge in which Nigeria is playing a leading role in eradicating and has been acting in concert with other nations to find solution. Breaking: Lagos Assembly Passes Bill On DNA, Forensic Centre A bill for a law establishing the Lagos State Deoxyribo-Nucleic Acid (DNA) and Forensic centre to support criminal investigations, law enforcement, preservation of evidence for the judicial system and for other connected purposes has been passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly. The bill was passed by the House after it scaled the third reading at plenary on Monday with all lawmakers in attendance giving their approvals. The report on the bill had been adopted at an earlier sitting presided over by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa. A part of the objectives of the centre includes to provide for the use and regulation of DNA based technology in the Lagos State in order to carry out profiling or analysis. IMO STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENCES THE CONSTRUCTION OF UMUCHUKWU-UKWUINYI ROAD IN NKWERRE LGA. In line with the grassroots development initiative of the 3R Government of His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, work has commenced in earnest on the construction of Umuchukwu-Ukwuinyi road in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State. The construction work which has progressed up to stone base level, would resuscitate the road from its deplorable status and add up to the numerous road projects which the Governor Hope Uzodimma led Administration has constructed in less than 3 years. It is worthy of note, that the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma had embarked on road revolution in Imo State and despite the rains, many road constructions are ongoing across the State. Miyetti Allah begs Soludo to Suspend Ban on Movement of Cattle The leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has appealed to Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo to temporarily suspend the ban on cattle movement on foot in the state. The appeal was made on Monday by the Southeast leader of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Sidikki, in Awka, Anambra State. He said the ban is too sudden and many of the cattle rearers have no other means of livelihood, arguing that the ban will have a negative effect on them and their livelihood. Sidikki used the point that MACBAN members have been living peacefully in the state as part of the points to strengthen his appeal. Speaking in a chat with The Nation, he said; “Majority of us (Fulanis), don’t know any other business more than rearing of cattles in this World. “Some of us were born and bred in this rearing of cattle business here in Anambra state. TWO HERDSMEN IN POLICE NET FOR CUTTING-OFF FATHER’S HANDS.(PHOTO).

The suspects, Bello Usman, 25, and Shehu Abubakar, 25, allegedly conspired with two others, who are both at large, to perpetrate the act. Following their arrest, Usman and Abubakar were arraigned by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) on a two-count charge. The charge includes criminal conspiracy and causing grievous harm, which contravened sections 97 and 246 of the penal code. The suspects however told the court that they had planned to rustle their 60-year-old father’s cattle and not to chop-off his hands. The Minna Chief Magistrate Fati Hassan Umar ordered that they remain in police custody till September 26. The father and the guardian of the fleeing suspects were also summoned by the presiding chief magistrate. They were ordered to produce their wards in court on the next adjourned date. TWO WOMEN ARRESTED FOR OPERATING BABY FACTORY IN OGUN. Two women, Christiana D'ivoire Iyama and Margaret Ogwu were on the 27th of August 2022 arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for operating baby factory.  The suspects were arrested following an information received by police at Agbado divisional headquarters that, Christiana Iyama who lives at No 4, Ibrahim Famuyiwa street, Agbado Ogun state, is operating a baby factory at the above address, where she used to harbour young girls and hired men to impregnate them after which she will collect the baby on delivery and sell to her waiting buyers.  Upon the information, the DPO Agbado division, SP Awoniyi Adekunle mobilized his detectives to the area where the said Christiana D'ivoire Iyama and Margaret Ogwu were arrested.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Margaret Ogwu was one the girls harboured by Christiana D'ivoire who employed the service of a man to impregnate her and collected the child on delivery, whic

14 Uncovered Assets, Not Mine; I Have Only N2.8m In My Bank Accounts - Abba Kyari The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari, has denied owning 14 assets, saying the uncovered assets linked to him by the federal government are not his. Besides, the former head of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, said contrary to report huge sums of money said to have been traced to his bank account, he has just N2.8 million in his UBA account and another N200,000 in his Sterling Bank account. Kyari denial was contained in a statement reacting to reports in the media that 14 assets, including shopping mall, residential estate, polo playground, lands and farmland belonging to him were uncovered by the federal government.
