 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

       The power of alumni fully in display as alumni of College of Immaculate Conception (C.I.C) Enugu build a 540 bed hostel for the school. The hostel complex which is fitted with modern facilities and can comfortably accommodate 540 students was commissioned today, Friday, August 3, 2018 as part of their ongoing 2018 global convention. In his remarks, the Principal of the school, Reverend Father Hilary Mgbodile thanked the alumni for their kind gesture and said that they have c ontinued to make C.I.C Enugu the pride of secondary schools in Enugu state and beyond. Speaking at the ceremony, Nze Uche Nworah, Managing Director and CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), an alumnus of the school said that the project wouldn't have been possible without the commitment of the alumni. He said that it was their own way of investing in the future of the students and hoped that they will keep the hostel facilities in good condition.One more photo below.

Troops of 22 Brigade deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have reunite children abducted two years ago by Boko Haram terrorists with their parents at Ngafure village in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State. 2. The troops rescued the hostages, two boys and two girls during a clearance operation at Maima village in Ngala Local Government Area of the State. 3. A 36 hand grenade was also recovered during the operation. 4. The rescued hostages are currently receiving medical attention at the military health facilities. 5. COURT CONVICTS EX-TARABA SA ON REVENUE MATTERS FOR N5.4M FRAUD.

      Joshua Augustine, a former Special Adviser on Revenue Matters to Taraba State government has been convicted of a two-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and conversion of public funds. The Federal government had in 2012 provided financial assistance to the tune of N400 million for the procurement of relief materials for victims of 2012 flood disaster. Two committees were set up to  which Augustine was appointed to lead one of them. The sum of N214,795,870 was given to the committee, out of which a total of N5,452,580 was diverted.He was accused to have between October 20, 2012 and December 29, 2012 as Secretary of the Procurement Sub-Committee 'A' Northern and Central Zones, “dishonestly misappropriated the sum of N4,702,580 out of the total sum of N214,795,870”.Augustine was first arraigned before Justice Filibus Andetur of the Taraba State High Court in March 2016.
