EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                 In a letter signed by Acting Secretary General of FIFA,Markus Kattner and titled ''Verdict of the Jos Federal High Court'' and addressed to President of NFF,Pinnick,FIFA scribed frowned that the decision of the Federal High Court in Jos,if implemented,would likely be considered as an interference in the internal affairs of the NFF with severe consequences that would include the suspension of the NFF.And in this case,suspension of NFF practically means blighting our national teams from international competitions such as U-23 Dream Team from the Rio Olympic Football event,the Super Falcons from the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon,the World Cup qualifiers and even affecting Enyimba's search for a third Champions League trophy for Nigeria.In expressing its disgust with the desperation of the plaintiff who lost his appeal to the same matter with Court of Arbitration for Spot {CAS} on 18 May 2015,FIFA reminded the NFF of its powers to take sa

POLICE SEAL OFF THE NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION HEADQUARTERS TODAY,IN ABUJA.

                 Today monday,the Nigerian police sealed off the headquarters of the the Nigerian Football Federation {NFF} in Wuse,Abuja.The entrance to the building housing offices is being manned by soldiers and riot police.This follows last week's court ruling that NFF president Amaju Patrick lost his post to Chris Giwa in the federation's election held in September 2014.Giwa and his team have since occupied the NFF offices and have said they would start working on monday.The NFF has appealed against the court ruling,insisting that Pinnick is still the head of the federation.The order from the court,barred anybody from interfering with the duties and functions of the NNF board under Giwa's leadership.One more photo below.                                                                                                     

TAIWAN ACCUSED CHINA TODAY,OF KIDNAPPING 8 OF IT'S CITIZENS FROM KENYA.

                      Today monday,Taiwan accused China of kidnapping eight of its nationals who it said had been acquitted in a cyber crime case in Kenya.Kenya's attorney general said in January it was considering a request from Beijing to extradite 76 Chinese charged with cyber crime in Kenya for trial in their homeland.But Taiwan said some of these people were actually from Taiwan and that a total of 23 of its people had been acquitted last Tuesday by a Kenyan court and given 21 days to leave.Yet China pressured Kenyan police to put eight of the Taiwanese nationals on to a Chinese jet bound for China on friday,Taiwan's Foreign Ministry said.It did not say how they were taken.The ministry said in a statement, that ''This is an uncivilized act of Illegal kidnapping and a serious violation of basic human rights''.Adding that it was demanding the immediate return of the eight.Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party,which distrusts China,also weighed in o

6 TURKISH CREW MEMBERS WERE ABDUCTED RECENTLY,OFF NIGERIA COAST.

                  According to a Turkish maritime news agency who reported today monday that,pirates off the coast of Nigeria have attacked a Turkish cargo ship,kidnapping six crew members in a region increasingly hit by piracy in recent years.According to the Nigerian Navy Spokesman Chris Ezekobe,who tol AFP that ''All the six Turkish crew members,including the captain of the vessel,the chief officer and the chief engineer,were abducted by the attackers''.The pirates attacked the vessel in the dead of night while it was steaming through the oil rich Niger Delta,added the spokesman.Ezekobe said the ship,a merchant tanker,was used for crude oil operations and the navy was working with Interpol and Nigeria's secret police to secure the crew's release.The M/T Puli,was owned by Kaptanoglu Shipping.Both the kidnapped crew and those who remained on the ship,were in good health,the company was reported as saying.It was unclear how many crew members were aboard,which wa

                  Day one of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit to India is complete and they received a fantastic welcome in Mumbai.Their day began at the Taj Palace hotel,where they laid a wreath at the Memorial for the victims of the 2008 terrorist attack that took place here.The Duke and Duchess then went to the Oval Maiden and joined children being helped by three fantastic charities-Magic Bus,Childline,and Doorstep for a game of cricket.They then visited Banganga Water Tank and found out how SMILE,a local NGO,is helping this community develop local businesses.Finally the Duke and Duchess joined the stars of Bollywood for a charity gala hosted by the British High Commission and the British Asian Trust.More photos below.
