KDSG Security Update: 9th Friday July 2021  El-Rufai condemns killings in Zangon Kataf, Chikun, Igabi LGAs, citizens disappearance in Jema'a LGA  The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has condemned killings and disappearances of citizens in Zangon Kataf, Igabi, Chikun and Jema'a local government areas of the state.  Security Agencies had previously reported killings of citizens in Kibori, Katsit and Afana in Zangon Kataf local government area, and Amana Kasuwa of Igabi LGA, before reporting the killing of nine persons today Friday 9th July 2021 at Warkan village of Zangon Kataf LGA, and one person at Kakkau area of Chikun LGA.  The Governor condoled the families that lost their loved ones and wished the citizens who sustained injuries speedy recovery. Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday, July 9, 2021 sentenced a final year student of Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado Ekiti, Adeyemi Kehinde and a 21-year-old student of the Kwara State University, KWASU, Molete, Oladosu Olakunmi Olalekan, to various prison jail terms, having found them guilty of offences bordering on cybercrime The two convicts were arraigned on separate charges today by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Adeyemi, also known as ‘Queen Elizabeth’ was charged on one count, while Oladosu was prosecuted on three counts.  Particulars of the charge against Adeyemi read: “That you, Adeyemi Kehinde (a.k.a Queen Elizabeth) sometime in February, 2020 or thereabout at Ilorin, Kwara State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly induced one Miller, a white man to send you gift card worth the sum of $400 US Dollars when you knowingly pretended and represented yourself ...

 EFCC Arraigns Three Businessmen for Fraud in Maiduguri The Maiduguri Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, July 8, 2021 arraigned three businessmen Lawan Karta, Aisami Sherif and Babagana Bulama, before Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri for the offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, misappropriation, and obtaining money under false pretence.  Karta and Sherif were jointly arraigned on a two-count  charge for allegedly  selling a purported plot of land to one Mohammed Umar Bolori in the sum of N10, 000, 000.00 (Ten Million Naira). Investigation revealed that the complainant made a deposit of N5, 000, 000.00 (Five Million Naira) to one of the defendants’ account during his visit to   the land. His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma today received a high powered 6-man delegation from the Nigerian Navy led by Rear Admiral Odogwu Ezekobe, the Chief of Policy and Plans, on a familiarization visit to the Governor on the proposed Naval Base to be situated at Osse Moto, Oguta LGA. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya has commiserated with troops who were involved in a road traffic accident on Thursday 8 July 2021, at Garin Kuturu, along Maiduguri- Damaturu road, while responding to a  distress call.  Sadly, one of the Gun trucks conveying the troops skidded off the road and rammed into a road shoulder, causing the vehicle to somersault. Nine personnel who sustained varying degrees of injury in the accident have been evacuated and are currently receiving medical attention in a military medical facility.  No fatality was recorded in the accident.  Gen Yahaya lauded the troops for their swift response and urged them to be more circumspect during emergency operational responses.                        9th July 2021 The coalition of Nasarawa State Health Professional Associations (CNSHPA) has suspended its one-month-old strike. Spokesperson of CNSHPA, Mr Kyari Caleb, made this known while briefing newsmen on Friday in Lafia. Caleb, who is also the state Chairman of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), explained that the suspension of the strike followed interventions by major stakeholders in the state. He added that the agreement to suspend the strike was reached on Friday (today) at the congress of the coalition, following appeals by the Traditional Council of Chiefs in Nasarawa state, led by its Chairman and Emir of Lafia, Sidi Bage.   According to Vulture, DMX officially died from a cocaine-induced heart attack that caused a lack of blood circulation to his brain. “It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain,” a source from the Westchester County medical examiner’s office told Vulture. Oba Erinwole Road: Abiodun orders contractor to complete project in two weeks Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has given the contractor handling the reconstruction of the Oba Erinwole Road in Sagamu, two weeks to complete the project. Abiodun who gave the order on Thursday while inspecting the level of work on the four-kilometre road, expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work, and urged the State Commissioner for Works, Ade Akinsanya to ensure the job was completed in the next two weeks.  Nigeria Proposes 1-Year For Artefacts' Full Return The Federal Government has proposed a one-year time limit for the full return of its artefacts from Germany, which has agreed to repatriate hundreds of antiquities which were looted from the Bini Kingdom in 1897. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the proposal during a round-table with German Museum Directors and government officials in Berlin, Germany, on Thursday. Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Thursday, July 8, 2021 sentenced Giwa Nurudeen, a 25-year-old final year student of the University of Ilorin, to three years imprisonment having found him guilty of offences bordering on internet scam.  He was arraigned today by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a three-count charge of internet fraud. Giwa, a native of Ibadan, ran into problem on May 4, 2021 when operatives of the EFCC received credible intelligence about the activities of some suspected internet fraudsters operating around Tanke Area of Ilorin, an action which led to his arrest.  LASBCA CONFIRMS PARTIAL BUILDING COLLAPSE IN LAGOS  The Lagos State Building Control Agency has confirmed that a three-storey building located at 19, Church Street, off Adeniji Adele Street on Lagos Island, partially collapsed on Wednesday.  According to the General Manager of the Agency, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, the preliminary investigation into the cause of the collapse, which occurred late in the night while residents were asleep, indicated the structural failure of a part of the beam carrying a water tank used by the occupants.
