 King Charles III to resume public duties next week after cancer treatment The British monarch, King Charles III, will resume his public duties next week following a three-month break to focus on his treatment and recuperation. A few months ago, the British monarch was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer and has been receiving treatment. However, Buckingham Palace on Friday said the monarch would be visiting a cancer treatment centre on Tuesday, the first of several public appearances he will make in the coming weeks. According to the palace, one of his first major engagements will be to host a state visit by the emperor and empress of Japan in June. The palace didn’t provide an update on the king’s treatment but said his medical team is “very encouraged by the progress made so far and remains positive about the king’s continued recovery.” Charles continued his state duties, including reviewing government documents and meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, after his diagnos

    This lady died in a hospital after being beaten into a pulp by her husband.  She was a mother of 5 and allegedly said she was staying in the abusive marriage because of her children.     The incident happened in Mile Four, Limbe, Cameroon. She was buried yesterday Saturday...Her name was Harriet Atanga.More photos below.

     One of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve is reporting today with photos with the caption ''This is just like a scene in a Nigerian Nollywood movie only that this is real.Facebook user Chima Obijiofor has taken to his page to expose a man he says deposited charms in his land. He wrote."This evil man came to deposit charm (juju) in my land where I want to establish small scale industry". According to him, he caught Mr  Francis Obichukwu Obidi from  Umuduru Nempi in Imo state carrying out the act as he was on his way to fetch water for the fencing work early in the morning. Mr Obidi was later handed over to the community vigilante''.More photos below.

PRESIDENT BUHARI EMBARKS ON A TWO-DAY WORKING VISIT TO MOROCCO FROM TODAY.

      President Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday, June 10, embark on a two-day working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. The visit, which is at the invitation of His Royal Majesty, King Mohammed VI, will see the two leaders discuss socio-economic matters affecting their countries, following prior engagements in December 2016, during the official visit of His Majesty to Nigeria. In Rabat, discussions will focus on strengthening existing agreements on the fertilizer industry, education cooperation, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project and establishing a basic chemical platform to harness Nigeria’s vast natural gas resources and support Morocco’s diammonium phosphate industry.       The Lagos State Government  on Saturday  declared  June 12, 2018  as public holiday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the annulled 1993 Presidential elections adjudged to be have won by the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO)Abiola. The State Governor,  Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government,  Mr. Tunji Bello said the significance of June 12, 1993 elections, adjudged as the freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria, would always be a reference point in the State’s quest to entrench true democracy in service to the people. RAS KIMONO PASSED AWAY TODAY AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS.{PHOTOS}.

    Is a pity that we have to announce the death of   Ukeleke Onwubuya a.k.a Ras Kimono  who passed away today morning.I can't believe someone I see and chat with in COSON meetings,so full of life is going to die soon. Ras Kimono was known for the hit singles ‘Under pressure’ and ‘We no want’.Sources said  that he was schedule to travel to the United States Saturday night, but complained of not feeling too well. He was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, then later taken to Lagoon Hospital in the Island. Ras Kimono was one of the veterans from the 90’s who continued to remain relevant on the music scene, mentoring and contributing to the Nigerian entertainment industry.He was born in Delta State. 911 TRUCK RAMS INTO STREET TRADERS IN ABAGANA; SCORES INJURED.{PHOTOS}.

        There was chaos after a tipper truck rammed onto street traders around the popular Oye Agu junction in Abagana area of Anambra state. According to Facebook user Obika Chidiebele, the accident saw a good number of the traders injured while trying escape being hit by the truck as their goods were destroyed in the process. The truck is yet to be removed as at press time.One more photo below.

The Ministry wishes to unequivocally state that the new excise duty rates which came into effect from Monday, 4th June, 2018, were not targeted at the local manufacturers. 3. The new excise regime seeks to achieve a dual benefit of raising the Government’s revenues to support the nation’s growth and reducing the health hazards associated with tobacco-related diseases and alcohol abuse. 4.
