 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. 0 All Passengers Feared Dead in a fatal accident that occurred along Abakaliki-Enugu Express Way. Ebonyi State University Commercial bus, conveying some persons (Women) was involved in a tragic road accident earlier today the 11th of April . The bus had a head-on collision with a trailer between the Ezillo and Nkalagu axis of Ishielu LGA of Ebonyi state. The occupants of the bus were said to be mainly women(Not Ebonyi State University Students) going for burial and we're said to have lost their lives to the tragedy.  Watch video and more photos below.

 Man slumps, dies on road side in Rivers  A yet-to-be-identified man on Tuesday slumped and died by the roadside in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. New Telegraph gathered that the incident occurred at the Rumuigbo Junction area of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state. The development has caused remorse and worries among residents who witnessed the pathetic development. According to an eyewitness account, the yet-to-be-identified man in his early sixties was walking by the roadside and later fell on the walkway and died instantly. The source who gave her name simply as Grace narrated that when the said man fell, he was struggling to stand but no help came in at that moment. Grace added that passersby who gathered around the man were only taking pictures instead of helping to save the situation. She said: “This afternoon, the man was walking by the roadside, and later he fell down. Some people gathered around him. He was struggling to stand up but he couldn’t. He later died. “N

CNN reports Louisville shooter Connor Sturgeon was notified that he was going to be terminated from Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.  Sturgeon wrote a note for his parents and a friend indicating that he was going to shoot at the bank, the source said.  It is not clear whether that note was on paper or emailed, or whether it was seen before the incident or after, according to the source.  The shooting was live-streamed on Instagram and has been taken down. Amanda Bynes has been released from a mental hospital more than 3 weeks after she was first admitted for treatment ... TMZ has learned.  Sources close to Bynes tell us she was released Monday from the facility in Southern California after both Amanda and the medical staff determined she was ready to get back to her day-to-day life.  Sources revealed that Bynes left the Southern California facility on Monday after the medical staff gave her the okay. She will reportedly live on her own at home during the outpatient treatment and won't have to worry about her parents filing for conservatorship again, reported TMZ. No recruitment exercise going on, hackers on rampage — ITF Warns 11 April 2023   The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has warned Nigerians against fake recruitment advertisement making the rounds on social media. The warning was contained in a statement signed by the Director of the Public Affairs Department, Industrial Training Fund, Mrs. Suleyol Fred Chagu. According to the statement: “Let the public please be aware that there is no recruitment exercise going on in the Industrial Training Fund. “These Individuals are only out to deceive and defraud the unsuspecting public”. The statement also noted that “some unscrupulous individuals created a fake profile and page of the Fund’s Director-General/Chief Executive on LinkedIn and Facebook using the telephone number 07025143825”. It, however, urged the public to “Please beware”.

Brain Drain: Nigeria lost 1,700 nurses in one month — Rep 11 April 2023  Dr Tanko Sununu, Chairman House Committee on healthcare services has said that Nigeria losses over 1,700 nurses in a single month. Sununu was commenting on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on a proposed bill which seeks to amend the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act 2004 to address the brain drain in the health sector. The bill mandates Nigerian-trained medical and dental professionals to practise for five years before getting full licence. A 16-year-old Atlanta boy drawned after selflessly jumping into action to rescue four younger children stuck in an undercurrent while on a trip to Florida last week.   Bryce Brooks was with relatives in Pensacola for spring break when his life was cut short after he dove into the ocean to help four kids stranded in the ocean, his grieving family said Monday. The young lady later fainted in the video. The video sparked wide condemnation with many calling for his arrest. Subsequently, Iorfa was apprehended by men of the Benue State Police Command.
