  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        As efforts to fight drug abuse in Nigeria hit to gear, the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) is set to constitute a Codeine Control and Other Related Matters Working Group (CCRWG). This is coming barely two weeks after the Senate, led by its President, Dr Bukola Saraki, held a Roundtable on Drug Abuse in Kano. The Roundtable which was held with the Pharmacists Council, NGOs, State Governments and Traditional Rulers, sought to proffer solutions to the menace of drug abuse that is fast claiming many youths in Nigeria. At the roundtable, Saraki who expressed grave sadness at how youths, including young girls and nursing mothers were held by the clutches of drugs, vowed to go after importers and distributors in a bid to curb abuse of codeine and other substances..       The Guards Brigade Nigerian Army today Saturday 30th December 2017, completed its 2017 Training Year with the ascension of the famous Aso Rock in Abuja. The ascension was aimed at testing the physical fitness, endurance and rock climbing skills of the officers and soldiers of Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, was the Special Gue st of Honour at the occasion. Typical of him, he also climbed the rock along with the officers and soldiers of the formation, as well as some Principal Staff Officers and Directors from the Army Headquarters that accompanied him. She was suspecting her husband of infidelity, and decided to kill him with hot oil.
