LP Kicks As PDP’s Katung Wins Kaduna South Senatorial Seat Sunday Katung of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the Feb. 25 elections for Kaduna South Senatorial district. The returning officer, Abdullahi Dalhatu, who declared the result in Kafanchan on Monday, said Mr Katung polled 138, 246 votes, to defeat his closest rival Ayuba Michael of the Labour Party, who got 101,479 votes. Mr Dalhatu added that All Progressives Congress candidate, Bulus Audu, came third with 77,753 votes, while Rufai Ahmed of the New Nigeria People’s Party scored 8, 140 votes. He explained that a total of 337, 953 voters were accredited, out of which 335, 520 cast their votes. “Sunday Katung of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law by scoring the highest votes, is hereby declared the winner,” he said.
