                    Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Amode today tuesday disclosed plans to recruit at 5,000 Neighbourhood Watchers to boost security across the State,with new recruits expected to earn at least N25,000 monthly with other allowances.Governor Amode,who spoke at the 3rd Quarter 2016 Town Hall Meeting,held at the indoor Sports Hall,Teslim Balogun Stadium,Surulere,said the neighbourhood Safety Agency Bill which he signed into Law on August 15,2016,was part of efforts to institutionalise and deepen community policing in the State.''There iss a law that has just been passed which is the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps Law,2016 and in line with the resolution taken by the House of Assembly yesterday,we would go all out to make sure that this agency is activated and all our neighborhoods will be covered,and then centralize with the State Government with all the necessary equipment and resources to ensure that we establish what we call community policing and that

                    The EFCC today,October 11,2016 arraigned one Wahab Olawale Amoo and his company,Wahab Amoo and Sons Nigeria Limited before Justice Adedayo of the Lagos State High Court,sitting in Igbosere on count charge bordering on four counts bordering on Conspiracy,Forgery and Obtaining by False Pretence to the tune of Fifty Million Naira {N50,000,000.00}.The accused person allegedly conspired with his company,the 2nd accused person,to defraud the complainant Fidelity Bank Plc of the sum of Fifty Million Naira {N50,000,000.00} only by using forged documents to secure a loan facility through a property which was under caveat  at the Land Registry,Lagos State.He pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.In view of his plea,the prosecution counsel Fadeke Giwa asked the court for a trial date and also requested that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.However,the defense counsel Eric Uteh told the court that he served the prosecution the bail application for

                                         According to Vanguard,Shell has appointed a new Vice President for Nigeria and Gabon.He is Peter Costello and succeeds Markus Droll who assumes a new role of Executive Vice President,Projects in Shell International based in Rijswijk,The Netherlands.Peter Costello has spent over three decades in the oil and gas industry,starting his career in British Gas and working in the UK,India,The Philippines,Thailand and Kazakhstan.He tansferred to Shell following the combination with BG in June 2016.Peter,who has assumed duty in Lagos,said: ''I come to Nigeria with high hopes of what we can do to build on the excellent work that I've met on the ground.Shell Companies in Nigeria are major contributors to the economy,through the energy they produce and the revenues they generate for the country,'' among others,but also via their supply chains,local content and social investment.Given the exceptional talent here and the huge resource base
