 NO ABANDONMENT, NO NEW AWARDS: FG SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON MOROCCO SCHOLARSHIPS The Federal Government has firmly debunked misleading narratives circulating in some quarters regarding Nigerian scholarship students in the Kingdom of Morocco, describing such claims as false, unfounded, and deliberately crafted to misinform the public. The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has clarified that no Nigerian student on a valid Federal Government scholarship has been abandoned. All beneficiaries duly enrolled under the Bilateral Education Scholarship (BES) Programme prior to 2024 have received payments up to the 2024 budget year, in line with the Federal Government’s obligations. Any temporary delays in outstanding payments are attributable to fiscal constraints and are currently being addressed through ongoing engagements between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. Police Arrest Four-man Sex Blackmail Syndicate In Anambra   The Police Command in Anambra has arrested four suspected members of a syndicate, two males and two females who extort money from people through blackmail.   DSP Ikenga Toochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said they specialised in taking nude pictures of victims and threaten to post them online unless they paid money.   Ikenga gave the identities of the suspects as Okechukwu Ogoejiofor, 36, Nonso Nwizu, 34, Esther Nwafor lfeanyichukwu, 21 and Obianuju Nduba, 20.   He said the victims were arrested at Ajakpani village, Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area for alleged conspiracy, demanding with menaces and stealing.   The PPRO said the suspects used social media to lure their unsuspecting male victims into fake love/friendship affairs and thereafter take them to a room where they engage them in foreplay.   According to him, Obianuju Nduba engaged the...
