 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNOR,EXTENDS SCHOOL RESUMPTION DATE TO OCTOBER 13TH.

            In the middle of negotiations all over Nigeria if schools will resume on the 22 September 2014,Zamfara state Government extended their school resumption date to October 13 which i believe other Governors should learn from him.The safety of a Nigerian citizen should be considered first before any other thing.I pray the Government will listen to the citizens of Nigeria and extend the resumption date to a date that will be fair to enable schools to sanitize their staffs on how to prevent the further spread of Ebola virus.

A PROFESSOR IN LASU,ADEMOLA,SLUMPED AND DIED.

                       Professor Ademola Onifade,a professor of sports in the Lagos State University {LASU},Ojo died monday night at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital {LASUTH}Ikeja.He slumped at his Festac residence on the 12th of September 2014 but died late monday night.Mr Adekunle Idris,the Chairman,Academic Staff Union of Universities {ASUU} LASU Chapter,confirmed his death today.He said ''We were on the field together for sports about 10days ago because he jogs and exercises himself regularly.He was also seen in the campus last friday and was full of life.The Union is still in a state of shock as the late Professor was hale and hearty and did not show any sign of sickness before the sad incident''.May his soul rest in peace,amen.

                                                                             On sunday evening one of the Miss America contestant 21 year old Megan Swanson of Omaha Nebraska.was sitting directly behind the host Chris Harrison when she leaned over to chat with one of her fellow contestants at the start of the evening wear portion of the competition.She forgot to keep her legs together,giving audience a look up her short black skirt.luckily for her,she was wearing underwear.At the end of the competition,Miss New York Kira Kazantser is the new miss America but am sure Miss Nabraska Megan Swanson,will be remembered more than the reigning Queen.More photos below.

            Award winning musician Rihanna took to twitter to vent her anger after a very popular Television network CBS,cut her music.Rihanna claimed they pulled her scheduled performance at the Baltimore Ravens game,following the release of a video showing ex-player Ray Rice knocking his fiancee unconscious.Rihanna who was a victim of domestic violence back in 2009,took to twitter today tuesday to vent her anger.CBS sports Chairman Sean Mcmanus had said that the changes were made to give the game coverage a more subdued tone and Journalistic approach.The chairman was asked if it was because Rihanna was also a victim of domestic violence that was why the song was cut?.He replied that it was among several factors that were considered but that was not the current issue.Read her tweets below.                                                 ...

             According to sources,Christian Association of Nigerian President Ayo Oritsejafor has been linked to the arms smuggling jet caught by South African authorities on monday 15 September.The investigation is still going on,on how he was fully linked to the arm smuggling.It was confirmed by Adrian Lackay,a spokesperson for the South African Revenue Service {SARS} that customs officers became suspicious when passengers who landed with a private jet piloted by Captain Tunde Ojongbede,Luggages was unloaded and put through the scanners just after 7p.mThe South African officers then investigated and found three suit cases full of cash.The passengers told the officials they were acting on behalf of the Nigerian intelligence service.They provided documentation confirming they had come to South Africa to buy weapons.The two Nigerians were not alone,they were in the company of an Israeli citizen.                 ...
