 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

HERDER-FARMER CLASHES: OGUN GOVT DELIVERS FIRST BATCH OF PALLIATIVES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  Barely twenty four hours after the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that his Administration would provide palliatives to the victims of the recent confict between herders and farmers in the Ogun West Senatorial District of the State, the State Government has fulfilled its promise by delivering the first batch of foodstuff to victims in the area. The Chairman, Sub-Committee on Palliatives who is also the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan disclosed that the Committee was in the area to deliver the palliatives as promised by the Governor, adding that the gesture was a sign of better things to come.   President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply saddened by the fatal crash of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft on Sunday in Abuja that claimed the lives of seven personnel. On behalf of the Federal Government, President Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to family members, friends and colleagues of those who died as a result of this tragedy. The President joins the Nigerian Air Force, the military and other Nigerians in mourning the unfortunate loss of the dedicated and courageous personnel, who died in the line of duty. Reacting to the development on Sunday, President Buhari said: "I'm seriously disturbed by the outbreak of violence in Gombe State and call on the parties involved to exercise maximum restraint to avoid escalation." VERIFICATION OF COVID-19 PCR TEST RESULTS IN LAGOS STATE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Lagos State Government has deployed a verification platform to validate the authenticity of COVID-19 PCR tests done within the Private Laboratory Consortium and all State Public laboratories for outbound flights. This platform can be accessed through an App and the use of USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data-codes). The USSD option, which is available on all networks in Nigeria, can also be accessed outside of Nigeria as long as the mobile line is on a Nigerian Telecommunications Network. The USSD option can be accessed by dialling *35131*19# on the 9mobile network and *55500*19# on all other networks and following the onscreen prompts to verify results. The first 30,000 result verification will be free – courtesy of the Lagos State Government. Subsequent verification will attract N50 per usage for the user/client.   The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), earlier today, 21 February 2021, confirmed that one of its aircraft, a Beechcraft KingAir B350i (NAF 201), crashed while returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja after reporting engine failure enroute Minna, where it was scheduled to conduct surveillance missions over Niger State and its environs in connection with the concerted efforts to secure the release of the students/staff abducted from the Government Science College Kagara, Niger State. As earlier stated, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, has instituted an investigative panel to determine the remote and immediate causes of the accident. While the panel has commenced its work, the NAF, having notified the Next of Kins/family members of the deceased, regretfully announces that the following 7 personnel lost their lives in the crash: a.   Senator Okorocha arrested for unsealing hotel seized by the Imo state government The immediate past governor of Imo state, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by the police after he led a team of his supporters to reopen the Royal Palm Estate sealed by the state Government. Okorocha who was accompanied by his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, broke the keys used to seal the hotel which belongs to his wife, Nkechi. The state government last Friday, February 19, recovered the Royal Palm Estate along Akachi road.  The seizure, according to the team led by Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, was in compliance with the directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on recovery of Lands and other related matters. Police sources say he will be charged to court tomorrow February 22.More photos below.
