 IGP DISU RECEIVES NBA LEADERSHIP, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORMS AND POLICE-BAR COLLABORATION The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to advancing criminal justice reforms, strengthening professionalism, and deepening collaboration with critical stakeholders in the justice sector. The IGP made this known on Tuesday , 23rd June 2026, while receiving a delegation from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), led by its President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.The NBA delegation included Abdul Mohammed, SAN; Sabastine Anya, First Vice President; Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara, General Secretary; Barbara Omosun, Chief of Staff; Salamatu Sidi, NBA AED; Etaba Agbor; and Isaac Aduloju.                                                 The MTV Video Music Awards nominations were revealed today tuesday,and Beyonce and Adele are leading the park ahead of this year's ceremony.While Beyonce scored 11 nomination,Adele also raked in an impressive eight nominations.The pair will compete for the night's top honour in the form of Video Of The Year,alongside Kanye West,Drake and Justin Bieber.Kanye West is nominated for his controversial 'Famous' video,which sees him and his wife KimKardashian lying nude in bed with wax figures depicting celebrities including Taylor Swift naked.There are also naked wax figures of Cris Brown,Rihanna,Caitlyn Jenner,Amber Rose,Ray J,Anna Wintour,Donald Trump,Bill Cosby and George W. LAGOS STATE GOVT IS SET TO RECRUIT 1000 TEACHERS,IN LAGOS STATE PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

                            In a bid to improve teaching and learning in Lagos State public secondary schools,the Government is set to recruit additional 1000 teachers to fill the vacancies in the classrooms.The was made public today by the Deputy Governor,Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule at the flag-off of the sensitization seminar on Healthy Living for staff of the Post-Primary Teaching Service which was organized by the Teachers Establishment and Pensions Office {TEPO}.The Deputy Governor urged the teachers to support Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's administration in its drive to take education sector to higher level,adding that the government is very sensitive to the plight of teachers and committed to building their capacity building and ensure adequate welfare package to serve as motivation.She also intimated the teachers that full rehabilitation of schools would soon commence to upgrade the facilities and give the schools...

                      Lagos State Government,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode today tuesday embarked on extensive inspection of on-going projects across the State,where he equally flagged off the world class Epe-Marina Lagoon reclamation project aimed at giving a quantum leap to the tourism potentials of the State.Governor Ambode,who was accompanied on the inspection tour by top government functionaries,said the lagoon reclamation projects in Epe and Badagry,upon completion,would look like that of Dubai in United Arab Emirates {UAE}.He assured that the Badagry-Marina Lagoon reclamation project would be completed by the end of August,this year.Governor Ambode said ''We want to actually duplicate what you see in Dubai-Marina.This is a whole stretch of two kilometers of real estate and new tourist centres that we are putting in Epe and Badagry at the same time.We believe strongly that coming out from our retreat that we said we are going to grow th...

                      Koffi Olomide,who was caught on camera on friday kicking one of his female dancers right infront of police officers,though he later denied assaulting her her,was just arrested in his home country Congo 'Kinshasa'from his house .The reason for his arrest is still unclear,but it comes after the 60 year old musician assaulted a dancer at the Komo Kenyatta International Airport,over the weekend an incident that led to his deportation and cancellation of his show at Zambia's Agricultural and Commercial society,where he was scheduled to perform at the 90th edition.According to another source,he was charged with assault and battery,the source claimed that he has been charged to one year imprisonment for the offence.More information later.More photos below.                                              ...

                     It was reported today that Malawi authorities have arrested a man who featured on BBC as being involved in initiation ceremonies meant to ''cleanse' young girls by having sex with them.The arrest order is reported to have come from the country's President Peter Mutharrika.Eric Aniva had been featured by the news agency as being a 'hyena',a nickname to refer to persons who engages in the practice.He revealed that he was HIV positive,but despite that,he had slept with more than 100 young girlsThe sex cleansing practice is a traditional custom endorsed and funded by some communities in southern Malawi but the government has been trying to stop it.The BBC reports the director of communication at State House Bright Molande as saying that the president was disturbed by the revelations made in the story and has vowed to crackdown on the cultural practice.                  ...

                             Honourable Justice Dije Aboki of Kano State High Court has granted and application for leave to prefer charge against the duo of Saminu Umar Tar'ambu and Ahmed Maiturare of popular Kantin Kwari Textile Market,Kano City,brought by the EFCC.The prime suspect,Ta'ambu,was alleged to have approached Mathias Hee,a Swiss National and owner of Okutex,a textile manufacturing company sometimes in July,2015,requesting for the supply of fabrics totaling $530,000 under the pretence that he acted on behalf of Kano State Government.He forged documents titled Authorization to transfer to foreign account purported to have been issued and signed by the authorities of the Government of Kano State.Since the supplies,Ta'ambu failed to honour his part of the bargain and has refused to remit the amount as agreed.The matter has been adjourned to 5th of October,2016,for arraignment.One more photo below. ...
