The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.          Re-elected governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, following his victory in the Saturday’s governorship poll. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, handed over the certificate of return to Obiano at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, the state capital.. Presidenting the certificate to Obiano, the state REC urged the re-elected governor to live up to expectations and continue to develop the state. In attendance were Obiano’s wife, the Deputy Governor; Dr Nkem Okeke, and many of his supporters and top officials.        The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said that the state has built formidable structures and systems to receive and re-integrate victims of human trafficking and illegal migration who are indigenes of the state. Speaking at the International Conference on Women Empowerment and the Fight Against Trafficking in Persons: Partnership Between Nigeria and Italy, organised by the President of Italian Chamber of Deputies, Ms Laura Boldrini, in Rome, Italy, the governor said the state government needs support to sustain its efforts and ensure that youths do not have reasons to embark on treacherous journeys.               In its determination to ensure free flow of traffic and safety on the roads, the Lagos State Government on Wednesday commenced the process of clearing Apapa-Mile 2 axis of illegal parking of tankers and articulated vehicles. The action, the Government said, is aimed at freeing Apapa - Oshodi Expressway of traffic gridlock and to make it accessible to other road users. Speaking in Lagos after a visit to the area, the General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olawale Musa said despite series of meetings the Agency held with the stakeholders on the imperative of freeing Apapa of all traffic impediments, vehicles were still parked on the roads.        The Lagos State Government has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison as substantive Director-General of the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) Magodo. Ajose-Harrison became Acting Director-General in May following the retirement of the immediate past Director-General, Mrs. Regina Olubunmi Fabamwo. OVER 10-THOUSAND EKITI CHILDREN ARE TO BENEFIT FROM FREE WEARS TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR.{PHOTOS}

       Over ten thousand Ekiti children are to benefit from the State government free wears to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Governor Ayodele Fayose gave the information during a meeting with members of the Tailors Association from the 16 Local Government Areas at the government House in Ado. He said that the beneficiaries of the goodies would be from ages 01 to 10 at some designated centers that would soon be flag off. The Governor explained that over 150 Tailor volunteers would be needed to carry out the task. According to him, government would procure 100 machines in addition with their own to carry out the assignment. He noted that the machines would be given to them free of charge through ballot after the assignment. The chairman Tailors Association Ekiti State chapter, Mr Jimoh Aderemi thanked the Governor for remembering them to carry out the task that would add value to their economy.                      The parents of a seven-month old baby, Wilson Eberechukwu, have cried out for help following the baby's medical condition known as Hydrocephalus and also being unable to take care of their child due to financial restraints. The baby who is currently on admission with his mother at Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra state - has reportedly been in pains following the gathering of fluids in the brain. Hydrocephalus (also called “water on the brain”) can make babies’ and young children’s heads swell to make room for the excess fluid. Older kids, whose skull bones have matured and fused together, have painful headaches from the increased pressure in the head.One more photo below.
