 Abuja Court Jails Two Internet Fraudsters The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 secured the conviction and sentence of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms. The convicts, Adeleye Olanrewaju and Ayo Olaosebiomo were convicted by Justice I. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory,  FCT,  High Court Gwagwalada on a one- count charge each. The lone- count charge against Olanrewaju  reads: ‘that you Adeleye Olanrewaju sometime in 2024 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court committed the offence of cheating by personation when you pretended to be one Lolita Gonzale293 female American citizen when you created a fake Instagram account for love scam and benefitted the sum of $460 (Four Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars) from your victim John Alonzo and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 321 and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004”.   They both

This followed a grace period of one month issued by the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation. Mob kills Okada rider over false organ disappearance alarm in Kogi Police have paraded three suspects who caused the death of a commercial motorcyclist, Usman Abubakar in Aiyetoro – Gbede, Ijumu local government area of the state by accusing him of snatching the male organ of one of them. The suspects Haruna Adamu 28, Harisu Abdulrasheed 18, and Yakubu Mohammed 23 were among the nine suspects paraded for various deadly offences at a press conference by Kogi Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, in Lokoja on Tuesday. The three suspects were accused of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and false alarm leading to the death of Abubakar by the police. The trio were said to have falsely accused the deceased commercial motorcyclist of snatching the male organ of one of them.  Angolan TikToker jailed for two years for insulting the president A social media influencer in Angola, Ana da Silva Miguel, has had her prison sentence increased to two years by the country’s court for “insulting” President João Lourenço on TikTok, BBC reports. LAGOS POLICE ARREST FRAUD SYNDICATE Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected fraudsters at Iyana Church Bus stop, Lagos after receiving credible information from concerned citizens.  The suspects, Orji Chinedu ‘m’ aged 38, Uche Godwin ‘m’ aged 37 and Ifeoma Nathaniel ‘f’ aged 51 years, who were arrested on October 9, 2023 were in the business of picking passengers from Iyana Church Bus Stop, with a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 497 AA.
