EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

      According to information gathered, the couple identified as Otu and Nseobong, are both deaf and dumb and have been dating for a long time before making the major move of getting married. NIGERIA HAS A SUBSISTING DEBT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY-DMO.#PRESS STATEMENT.

       The Debt Management Office (DMO) on Wednesday refuted a report published by a national daily that the country had no debt management strategy. The Director-General of DMO, Ms. Patience Oniha, in a statement issued by the Office, disclosed that Nigeria has a subsisting debt management strategy. “Contrary to the publication on the front page of the Newspaper of July 4, 2018, Nigeria has a duly approved Debt Management Strategy. “The Debt Management Strategy was approved by the Federal Executive Council in June 2016 and has an expiry date of December 2019. She advised the public to disregard the media report, adding that the Federal Government was implementing the nation’s debt management strategy in full. ANOTHER FUEL TANKER LOST CONTROL AND SPILLED IT'S CONTENT TODAY AT ALIMOSHO.{PHOTOS}.

       Another tanker, fully loaded, lost control and spilled it's content few minutes ago at Alimosho, leaving motorists scampering to safety, while some drove through the covets to "one way". Fortunately, the Lagos state emergency response team came to the rescue just on time.Unconfirmed reports says the accident was due to brake failure.This brings up the question, when shall we ever get things right in this clime? .May we never fall victim of someone else's negligence as we go out to seek our daily bread.One more photo below.

        Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, adjourned the trial of a former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, to October 23, 2018 for continuation of the examination in-chief of the twentieth prosecution witness, Adekunle Odofin. Odofin, a detective with the EFCC, had on July 3, 2018, testified to the effect that the petition against the defendant was investig ated by his team. Documents establishing the alleged offence against the defendant were tendered through the witness and admitted in evidence by the court.At the resumed sitting today, Ibrahim Isiyaku, SAN, representing Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako and Zulkifikk Abba (second and fourth defendants respectively) and Y. C Maikyau, SAN, representing ‎Abubakar Aliyu (third defendant) sought leave of the court for the international passports of their clients to be released to them, to enable them travel abroad to see their families and perform their religious rites.

FG INAUGURATES COMMITTEE ON NEW CIVIL SERVICE WELFARE POLICY.

         THE Federal Government has said that it is looking beyond payment of a new minimum wage to Federal Civil Servants by ensuring that the entire welfare of workers is given due consideration. Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, said this while inaugurating a technical committee for the development of the Federal Civil Service Welfare Policy in Abuja. She said the committee was a very important one because welfare of workers must be given a top priority, regretting however, that over the years, there had been uncoordinated approach towards welfare of the Civil Servants and little attention to occupational health and safety work environment issues. She added that members of the technical committee chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Special Service Office, OHCSF, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, were drawn from her office and other relevant Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs).      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 arraigned one Felix Idowu and his company, Premium Samflex Integrated Limited before Justice O. O. Goodluck of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on a two-count charge of fraud to the tune of N11,750,000 (Eleven Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira). Count one of the charge reads: "That you, Felix Idowu, being  the Managing Director of Premium Samflex Limited and you Premium Samflex Limited on or about the month of January 2016 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court fraudulently misappropriated the sum of Ten Million Naira being money entrusted to you by National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, FCT Chapter, to use in compensating the owners of land appurtenant to Plot No. 81 Giri Farmland Layout, Gwagwalada and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 309 0f the Penal Code Act”.
