 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                    The Assistant nspector General of Police Zone 2,Mr Cornelius Kayode Aderanti has reassured the Ogun State government and the people of the state that the kidnapped children of the Turkish International School,Isheri would soon be rescued.Aderanti gave this assurance,today tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,at his Oke Mosan,Abeokuta office.Mr Aderanti assured that in the shortest possible time,the children would be rescued revealing that men of the police are working round the clock to effect their release.He commended the Governor for his support to the Nigerian police in terms of logistics and other inputs adding that the police would continue to work towards a crime free society.The AIG,Zone 2 used the avenue to laud and commend the developmental projects of the Governor Amosun-led administration,which he said,has dotted the nooks and crannies of the state.In his remarks,the Governor sounded a note of warning to

                        According to PM News,two persons,a 16 year old girl and 45 year old local football coach are said to have died in the Nkpolu-Orowuoroku area in Mile 3 in Port Harcourt when a telecommunication mast and billboard fell on them during an hour long rain accompanied with thunderstorms.The female victim whose immediate identity remains unknown was said to have been under a giant umbrella assisting her mother to sell her wares when the mast suddenly collapse on a giant billboard and fell on the girl who died immediately.According tto a witness,''We were about to start football practice when rain started falling with heavy wind.Suddenly,the telecommunication mast fell on a billboard which fell on her.A pole also fell on the football coach''.The mother of the girl who was in a state of shock said ''We are selling at Nkolu here.My daughter was helping me to sell when suddenly the rain started falling with heavy breeze which now fell the mast and th

                                    The vigilant officers and men of the NCS Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command has arrested a suspected smuggled vehicle concealed in a truck loaded with firewood.Addressing reporters at the Command headquarters,the CAC Compt,Sani Madugu told newsmen that the truck was arrested along Tangaza-Ruwawuri road coming into Nigeria.He said examination conducted by his officers revealed that the truck was found to contain 1 used Honda Accord 2006 Model with chassis no.{IHGCCM564867090155}.  Similarly,another Mitsubishi Canter with Reg: No. XA 683 TSF carrying cow dung {Manure} was arrested by the Command's Roving Team B,along Kamba Road in Kebbi State.Examination further revealed that the Canter was loaded with 37 bales of second cloths.The CAC used the medium to warn smugglers that Customs is always a step ahead of them and call on them to imbibe legitimate trading.                  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC yesterday monday,23 January,2017 arraigned Akintunde Vincent Abiodun before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of Lagos State High court Ikeja on amended charge bordering on forgery and obtaining money by false pretence.The 37 year old HND holder from Federal Polytechnic Auchi,Edo State,is said to have defrauded the victim,D.Bonnici of $267,000 {Two Hundred and Sixty Seven Thousand New Zealand Dollars by claiming to be Christopher Williams from United Kingdom.According to the complainant,she met Akintunde in a dating site on the internet and allegedly fell in love with him.She said the accused started collecting money from her after he claimed he was in possession of germstone worth $18,050,000 {Eighteen Million and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars},which he purportedly inherited from his father.She further said,Akintunde hoodwinked her into believing that he was coming to New Zealand to settle down with her.She alleged that
