  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                     The Senate,will on wednesday [December 7th,2016} begin the public hearing on the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill {PIB},which passed second reading on tuesday,November 1st,2016.The PIB governnce legislation,which has been stalled in successive Assemblies,has reached its farthest stage in 16 years. The Bill establishes the process for breaking the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation {NNPC} into two commercial entities which will be limited by shares.The two entities will be known as the National Petroleum Company and the National Assets Management Company. A NIGERIAN DRUG CONVICT,NWOKO JAILED 27YRS IN CAMBODIA LOSES REPRIEVE TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

              According to Vanguard,a Nigerian drug convict in Cambodia,Presious Chineme Nwoko has had his hope for reprieve dashed.Nwoko,also known as Precious Max and linked with several Australian woman arrested for being his mules,was sentenced to 27 years imprisonment in 2014.His hope for reprieve was dashed by a Cambodian appeals court today tuesday.The court upheld his prison term,ruling that it was appropriate and in accordance with Cambodia law.The court also upheld the prison terms slammed on a French woman ,and Australian.The trio were all convicted for trying to smuggle heroin to Australia.Judge Pol Sam Ouen said the sentences given by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court in May 2o14 to then-19-year-old Frenchwoman Charlene Savarino,41 year old Ann Yoshe Taylor of Australia and 23-year-old Precious Nwoko of Nigeria were correct.The lower court had sentenced Savarino to 25 years in prison,Taylor to 23 years and Nwoko to 27 years.Savarino and Taylor were arrested in September 2013

                      According to source,President Muhammadu Buhari will present the 2017 budget proposal to the National Assembly on December 14.This is contained in a letter to the Senate and read by the President of the Senate,Dr Bukola Saraki,at the floor of the upper chamber on tuesday in Abuja.The letters reads: ''I crave the indulgence of the National Assembly to grant me the 10.00 hours on wednesday December 14,to formally address a joint session of the National Assembly on the 2017 budget proposal''. The president will also address the joint session on plan to get the country out of recession.''Please extend,Mr Senate President the assurances of my highest regards to the distinguished senators as I look forward to addressing the join session''.I just pray Nigeria gets better because the citizens are really suffering and things are becoming too expensive for the poor.

The IGP Intelligence Response Team {IRT} recorded another breakthrough with the arrst of three of the kidnappers that murdered one and kidnapped five expatriate members of staff of Dangote group.The IRT,armed with credible intelligence,between November 27,and December 3 this year arrested three of the kidnappers: Abubakar Gide 24,Abdullahi Salihu 22,and Nabuga Adamu 25 in Ijebu Igbo-Ogun State,Epe Forest-Lagos State and Ajasa Ipo Forest-kwara state respectively. 3.
