 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.       A former Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Mr. Theophilus Okere, has allegedly stabbed his wife to death at Imerinwe community in the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of the state. Aged 85, Okere was said to have carried out the act unknowingly. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted a source as saying the former DG had been suffering from dementia, a term for diseases and conditions characterised by a decline in memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking skills that affect a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. The sources reportedly said the family had been managing Okere’s dementia for some time. “Okere has been down with dementia and the family has been managing the problem.       In order to further boost the response capability of the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE to threats in Yobe State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to establish a virtual Forward Operating Base (FOB), with a helipad and refueling facilities, in Damaturu, the State capital. This was made known by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, yesterday,   25 May 2020, while on an inspection of the facilities in Damaturu.      NEMESIS has caught up with four grave diggers as they were arrested for being in possession of five human heads in Akure, the Ondo State capital. They reportedly sell the severed heads to ritualists for money-making. The suspects who work at a public cemetery owned by Akure South Local Government along Imafon road, Akure were caught in the act while trying to severe the head of a newly buried corpse. Vanguard learnt that they were apprehended last weekend for being in possession of a female human head and four other fresh severed heads. The suspects who are in police custody include Adewale Abiodun, 40; Akinola Sunday, 69, Olomofe, 45 and Oluwadare Idowu 67. Reports had it that the bubble burst last week Saturday as the syndicate tried to exhume the corpse of a young tipper driver who was buried at the cemetery few hours by the family members. Speaking to journalists, on Monday, after the second round inspection of ongoing drainage project sites in Surulere, Lagos Mainland and Somolu Local Government Areas, the Honourable Commissioner for The Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello said tipping trucks now embark on round trips to quickly evacuate the silts from drains across the metropolis. He stated that findings have shown that several drainage channels, which had been cleared in the past, are quickly filled with dirt again due to non-evacuation of the silts in time, stressing that work is ongoing at various canals and drainages in order to ensure the free flow of wastewater.
