 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. 500 NIGERIANS DEPORTED TODAY,FROM THE U.K.{PHOTOS}.

             According to sources,about 500 Nigerians were deported today from the United Kingdom and they had arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International airport,Lagos this morning and many of them have been deported over illegal stay permits.Many of them who were allowed to speak to newsmen complained of the way they were handled by the British authorities,alleging that majority of them were not even allowed to take their belongings before being deported.It has been reported that the UK authorities plans to deport 29,000 Nigerians,but the Nigerian High Commission in London Olukunle Bamgbose had on October 24th expressed worry over plans by the migration and removal policy of the UK Government,to deport the 29,000 Nigerians.He said ''I think about 29,000 Nigerians have been designated to be deported.We are insisting that due process must be followed before Nigerians are really removed from the UK to Nigerians''.More photos below.                              

MUSICIAN IYANYA,APPOINTED AS ''THE FACE OF CROSS RIVER'' BY THE STATE GOVERNOR.

                     According to sources,Cross River state Governor Ben Ayade,at the unveiling of the 215 Carnival with the theme ''Climate Change'',appointed Afro-Pop singer,Iyanya as an Ambassador to the State Government.The appointment makes him the Face of Cross River and the appointment also comes with an official car and a monthly salary.More photos below.                                                            

5 SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS,WERE KILLED TODAY IN AJAH BY THE NIGERIAN POLICE.

                   Today wedneday,five suspected armed robbers were killed by the Nigerian police,and another suspected robber was arrested with bullet wounds.A policeman told pressmen that the suspects had engaged policemen from Elemoro Division,Ajah in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area in a shootout where they were killed. The police source said that the five robbers were killed on the spot and one injured by bullets was arrested..''The police in Elemoro got information that the suspects were operating at Abule Parapo,opposite Awoyaya in Elemoro area of Ajah around 2 a.m.The suspects engaged the police in a shootout as soon as they saw them.Two locally made double barrel shot guns,one cutlass and iron cutter was recovered from them.The gang had been terrorising residents of Ajah,robbing and raping women''.The corpes of the dead robbers and the injured suspects were brought to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters,Ikeja about 12:15 p.m.The operatives of the Spe

DR OKEI-ODUMAKIN,LED A PROTEST TODAY OVER THE DEATH OF A NURSING MOTHER KILLED BY A POLICEMAN IN IKOTUN.

               Today wednesday,a peaceful protest was staged over the killing of a mother of four children by a trigger happy police officer two months ago.The victim Comfort Idongesit Udo from Akwa Ibom state,was allegedly shot dead on the 16th of September 2015 by a police officer,Musiliu Aremu who demanded for bribe from her husband,a tricycle riders,while they were coming from a vigil at Ikotun area of Lagos.Her Husband Godwin Udoh was conveying his wife and four children in his tricycle from a vigil when the police officer stopped him and demanded for bribe,but Udoh told him he was coming from a vigil and did not have money to part with.The police officer was said to have told him to enter his tricycle and while he turned,he fired a shot which hit Comfort on her head,came out through the other side and hit her husband on his shoulders,she died instantly.Inside the tricycle were the woman's four children 12 year old Mary,9 year old Blessing,7 year old Abraham and 1 year old E

NIGERIA UNDER 23 TEAM,WILL DEPART FROM GAMBIA TODAY TO DAKAR.

                           Today wednesday Nigeria Olympic team will depart the Gambia training camp ahead of its first game at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations against Mali.The team had been training in the West African country since last week and had played two tune-up games against Real de Banjul and the Gambian U-20 national team.A 33-man delegation will depart the Banjul international airport at 2300 hours aboard Arik airline for the 104-mile journey to Dakar.The arrival of skipper Azubuike Okechukwu and Taiwo Awoniyi on tuesday means all the players named in the final 21 man squad are now in camp.
