  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                     Today tuesday,German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel criticized Britain for not taking part in a European plan to share the burden of taking in desperate people fleeing war and poverty in North Africa and the Middle East.European leaders last month agreed on a voluntary scheme to take in 60,000 asylum seekers but Britain has a long standing exemption from EU rules on border issues,along with Ireland and Denmark.The leaders also agreed to excuse Hungary and Bulgaria.According to Germany's Interior Ministry report shows that in the first five months of 2015,nearly 142,000 people applied for Asylum in Germany,Europe's biggest economy,a 127 percent increase on the previous year.

                       Yesterday monday,according to sources who were present at the scene of the incident said there was panic at Ejigbo Magistrate court as the new Magistrate ,Mr Akeem A.Fashola officially resumed work after his recent transfer by the Lagos Judiciary,Lagos state,Nigeria.A snake was found in his chamber yesterday monday after the court opened and Magistrate Fashola was about to begin proceedings.A few minutes after the Magistrate sat in the chamber,a green snake appeared from nowhere in the chamber which forced both the Magistrate and court officials to flee.The prosecutor,Femi Adeleye,and security men attacked to the court searched for the snake and eventually killed it before normalcy could be restored.How the snake gained entrance into the court chamber was a mystery to the court officials because the former magistrate,Mr Peter Nwaka,who was transferred to Apapa court had moved his personal belongings from the chamber without any incident.The court is located near

NIGERIAN UNION OF JOURNALIST,DEMONSTRATED INFRONT OF THISDAY NEWSPAPER IN APAPA OVER UNPAID SALARIES.

               Today tuesday,the Nigerian Union of Journalists {NUJ picketed Thisday Newspaper,in Apapa over nine months salary arrears owed its workers.The union officials,who carried placard and barricaded the office headquarters of the organisation,condemned the continuous failure of media organisations to pay salaries of their workers,especially journalists.Mr Deji Elumoye,NUJ Lagos state Chairman told NAN that there were 12 other media houses that were not paying workers their wages.According to him,he led the picketing of Thisday Newspaper to show example that charity begins at home.''I am an associate editor in Thisday,that is why i chose to picket Thisday first.There are other media organisations owing over two years and we will go to all of them.It is time to put a stop to non-payment of salaries in the media organisations.Many families cannot pay their house rent or pay their children's school fees.The journalists are paid peanuts,yet they do not get the salaries.

BILL COSBY ADMITS HE USES SEDATIVES ON WOMEN,BEFORE SLEEPING WITH THEM.

                                                                                                        This was contained in a document as far back as 2005.The documents was obtained by the Associated Press and Bill Cosby admitted in the document that he has given the sedative to at least one women and other people.The unsealed files shows Mr Cosby,now 77 year old,made the admission in a sex abuse civil case brought by a woman.The 77 year old comedian was testifying under oath in a law suit filed by a former Temple University employee.He testified he gave her three half pills of Benadryl.Bill Cosby is said to have settled that sexual abuse law suit for undisclosed terms in 2006.Bill Cosby is facing a series of sexual assault accusations,dating back decades.He has denied the claims,though he has never been criminally charged.Most of the claims of sexual assault are barred by statutes o limitations.They restrict the length of time in which legal actions can be taken after an alleged cri
