  PRESS RELEASE 12TH SEPTEMBER, 2021 SHOOTING INCIDENT AT IJESHATEDO: ERRING POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED, DETAINED It has come to the knowledge of the Lagos State Police Command that one Monsurat Ojuade (female) aged 18, was hit by a stray bullet at about 0100hrs of 11th September, 2021 when a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti went on investigation activities to effect arrest of a robbery suspect in Ijeshatedo area of the State. Concerted efforts were made to save the life of the injured victim. She was immediately taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention but later died on the way to the hospital.  Safety Alert! There has been an accident involving a Mack Tanker fully laden with 45,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit and a Tipper Truck at Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, today, Sunday, 12th September, 2021. The tanker, which was reportedly hit by a run-away tipper truck, spilt its content while trying to enter an NNPC Filling Station along the axis. The incident, which occurred at Majek Bus Stop, inward Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, has been cordoned off to prevent danger. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is mitigating the situation with the deployment of Chemical Foam Compound to neutralise petrol from causing a secondary incident. The Lagos State Government has trained and presented necessary work tools, including Personal Protective Clothing, to 100 newly employed officers of the Fire Service for effective discharge of their duties. The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Adeseye Margaret, speaking at the passing out parade of the new Firefighters after six months of intensive training, charged the officers to boost the effectiveness of the Agency in Fire Safety, Rescue and Firefighting Operations. She reminded the officers that the Personal Protective Clothing, which is essential for their maximum protection, was provided by the State Government to combat infernos while keeping the Firefighters safe and secure as they perform their statutory duties. Nigerian Army (NA) Athletes have won the 42 Kilometres Marathon race at the Armed Forces Inter Service Competition which commenced today 12, September 2021 in Abuja.  The NA emerged champions in individual male and female as well as the team categories which began in Deidei, Zuba and ended at the Aguiyi Ironsi Sports Complex in Asokoro, Abuja.  The Armed Forces Inter Service Competition which comprises of marathon race, football and golf is to select sport men and women in the Armed forces of Nigeria (AFN) that will represent Nigeria in the Sahel Military Games scheduled for 9 to 17 October 2021.  In the male category, Private Okot Friday of the NA clinched the first position in 1hour, 52minutes, 1second, while Privates Nuhu Mohammed and Husamatus of the NA won the second and third position with 1hour, 52minutes, 17seconds and 1hour, 52minutes, 40seconds respectively. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, has ordered the Judicial Service Committee (JSC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to immediately initiate disciplinary action against the Upper Area Court Judge who issued direct criminal summons against a former governor of the Central Governor of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo. The judge, whose name is being withheld, issued the criminal charges against the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State over alleged serial abuse of office and breach of Code of Conduct for public officers when he was the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria between 29 May 2004 – 29 May 2009. No fewer than two persons have been confirmed dead after a building belonging to the Holy Ghost Church in Abeda Pave Community, Chachanji Ward in Takum Local Council in Taraba state collapsed during an ongoing church service on Saturday, September 11. According to reports, the building collapsed following a heavy downpour that lasted several hours.
