 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

      The Federal Government has listed higher import revenue, lower domestic fuel consumption and increased rice production by local farmers among the gains of the closure of the country's land borders in four geo-political zones of the country. Modupe MBBS, FMCOph paid a one day working visit to Anambra State Police Command to inspect medical facilities in the State in compliance with the directive of the Inspector- general of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni. 2.        It would be recalled that on the 22/11/2019 at about 1:30pm,following intelligence report, Police detectives in Anambra State arrested two female suspects at Nkpor in Idemili North LGA of the State. 2. Preliminary investigation by Police detectives attached to Otoucha Division revealed that the two children were allegedly stolen from Enuguwu Aguleri in Anambra East LGA by one Ani Chisom 'f' aged 28 years of Amuri in Nkanu-East LGA of Enugu State and (2)Afamefuna Udodili 'f aged 32 years of Orodo in mbaitolu LGA of Imo State respectively. 3.       Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said welfare of the Nigerian ex-Servicemen must be a priority. The Governor stated this at the launch of the year 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund at the Lagos House, Ikeja. Sanwo-Olu said retired personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces as well as their immediate family members must not be left to suffer in retirement, noting that some of them paid a supreme price fighting for a united Nigeria. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony is held yearly to celebrate the gallantry of military officers, ex-Servicemen and survivors of wars among Nigerian Armed Forces, who fought to keep the peace and unity in the country.
