 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. OGUN EAST: OGSG COMPLETES IJEBU ROAD, CONTINUES WORK ON SIX OTHERS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Ogun State Government, under Prince Dapo Abiodun, has completed the road on Ayegbami Street in Ijebu-Ode in the Ogun East Senatorial District. This was disclosed in a message personally posted by the Governor on social media. According to Governor Abiodun, his administration takes their "campaign promises very seriously," and will accordingly continue to deliver on them. Already, work is simultaneously ong oing on six other roads within the district - Aiyegun, Ayegun Oke, Fusigboye-Idewon, Molipa, Ashafa Oke, Ashafa Isale and Ojofa. The Governor stated that the administration has made sure that these road projects spread across all three senatorial districts of the State, in a bid to bring succor to all the people through relentless infrastructural development.       Lagos State Government has reiterated that there is currently no multiple taxation in Lagos State revenue system. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this during a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Ikeja by the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS) Mr. Muhammad Nami. Placing emphasis on startups, the Governor stated that his administration will always improve on the ease of doing business in the State rather than stifle the economy with loaded taxes. Mr Sanwo-Olu promised to embrace and support the activities of start-ups who are scared of the tax burden associated with businesses. He also urged Nigerians to pay their taxes regularly in order for the Government to attain a balanced development at all levels, which according to him, include social infrastructure, security among others. ILLEGAL OIL BUNKERING: NIGERIAN NAVY HANDS OVER TWO MOTOR TANKERS,BOAT TO EFCC.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Nigerian Navy Ship Delta, NNS Delta, on Monday, February 17, 2020 handed over two Motor Tankers, Neli and Madam Esther, a Barge and a Wooden Tugboat allegedly used for illegal oil bunkering to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office for further investigation. Captain AV Kujoh who represented NNS Delta at the handing over in Warri stated that the motor tanker s, were arrested by Forward Operating Base Escravos and Nigerian Navy Ship Bomadi for allegedly being used for illegal oil bunkering and theft. The Barge and the Tugboat were arrested around Ogbodo Creek in Warri South local government area. At the time of arrest, the tankers and barge were found to be with unspecified quantity of suspected illegally refined AGO, black oil and contaminated crude oil.More photos below.

EFCC FOILS MAN'S ATTEMPT TO SMUGGLE IN HARD DRUG FOR DETAINED SON.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a 60-year-old fish-farmer, Muyiwa Otuyalo, for attempting to smuggle in substance believed to be hard drug for his son, Damilola Otuyalo, who is currently in the custody of the Commission’s Ibadan zonal office. The older Otuyalo was at the premises of the EFCC in Ibadan on Monday, February 17, 2020 supposedly to visit his son. But while discussing  with the son, an officer noticed that he brought out a sachet of tablets and handed same to him. The officer subsequently raise alarm which led to the confiscation of the drug. When the in-house nurse was called upon for assessment of the content, it was revealed that the said item was Rohypnol, a tranquilizer used under strict prescription for treatment of severe insomnia and assist in anesthesia.One more photo below.

OYO STATE GOVERNMENT SET TO REHABILITATE AJANKANGA DUMPSITE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Rt. Hon. Kehinde Ayoola inspected the dumpsite at Ajakanga which was gutted by fire last week Wednesday. The commissioner who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Works, Prof. Rapheal Afonja appealed to residents to desist from encroaching dumpsite areas to avoid destruction of lives and properties. He assured that the dumpsite will be rehabilitated alongside three other dumpsites at Awotan, Aba-eku and Lapite. The Honourable Commissioner for Works in his address, added that construction of roads is part of the rehabilitation as pathways will be created for trucks entering the sites.

      The Uyo Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, February 17, 2020, arraigned the trio of Yvonne Edet Effiong, Bassey Okon Bassey and Enys International Resort and Hotel Limited, before Justice Agatha Okeke of a Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on a nine-count charge bordering on Forgery, Conspiracy, Stealing and Diversion of funds to the tun e of N17million. . . Effiong and Bassey, being staff of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Akwa Ibom State, allegedly conspired and diverted the said sum belonging to the Academy, using Enys International Resort and Hotel Limited under the pretext that the company executed a non existent contract.More photos below.

EFCC ARRAIGNS MAN FOR $61,438 FRAUD IN KANO.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 17, 2020 arraigned one Dasin Yusuf Bello before Justice Dije Abdu Aboki of the Kano State High Court on a three-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust to the tune of $61,438. He was alleged to have collected two containers of biscuits and sweets worth $64,046 (Sixty-Four Thousand and Forty-Six United States Dollars) from the complainant who is based in Indi a under the agreement that he would pay for the items in two months. It was further alleged that, after selling the product, Dasin paid the complainant the sum of $2,108.48 (Two Thousand One Hundred and Eight Dollars, Forty-Eight Cents) and diverted the remaining $61,938 (Sixty-One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Eight Dollars ) to his personal use.        Professor Aduku Armstrong Augustine Idachaba, Director, Broadcast Policy and Research, has been appointed to oversee the office of the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission. This appointment followed the suspension of Mallam Is’haq Modibbo Kawu. In a letter dated February 14, 2020, and signed by Deaconess Grace Isu Gekpe, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Prof. Idachaba, as the most senior Director in the National Broadcasting Commission, is to oversee the affairs of the Commission.

       The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Medical Services Branch has held an orientation course for new Medical tradesmen and women of the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 40/2019 who were enlisted into the Service on 15 February 2020 after completing 6 months of intensive basic military training. The one-day orientation training, which took place today, 17 February 2020, at th e Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM) Kaduna, was aimed at apprising the new airmen and airwomen of their roles and responsibilities as NAF Medical personnel. The 64 new medical personnel were taken through a series of lectures, interspersed with engaging interactive sessions, covering subjects such as “The History of the NAF Medical Services”; “Role of the NAF Medical Services in Support of NAF Operations” as well as “Professional and Work Ethics of the NAF Medical Services Branch”.        The Supreme Court has will today review its judgment on the Imo State gubernatorial elections which removed Chief Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of the state and declared Sen. Hope Uzodima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner. A full panel of 7 justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Mohammed, is expected to carry out the long-awaited review which could set new precedents on electoral jurisprudence in the country. Other members of the panel are: Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, Justice Kayode Ariwoola, Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun, Justice John Inyang Okoro, Justice Amina Adamu Augie and Justice Abba Aji.
