 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

        The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, through the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), on Thursday launched the newly designed Articulated and Allied Vehicle Number Plate (AVNP). Speaking at the launch, the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu said that the development is to  further prioritise safe motoring measures for crime detection on Lagos roads.       Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on the Federal Government to warn the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to stop making inflammatory remarks capable of destabilising the country. Governor Wike also berated the APC National Chairman for saying that there will be no swearing-in of th e PDP Candidate in Bayelsa State, saying he has no such powers. He said: "The Federal Government should warn Oshiomhole to stop making remarks that will destabilise Nigeria. "What he is doing in Edo State is not proper and he should not bring it to the rest of the Niger Delta."      Press Statement RIWAMA Inaugurates 25 Member Task Force To Arrest Cart Pushers In Rivers Over Violation Of Sanitation Laws The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) will no longer condone the activities of Cart pushers in the State which constitute a nuisance and run counter to the efforts of the Agency to keep the state clean and healthy for residents. Consequently, the Sole Administrator, Bro Felix Obuah on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, inaugurated a 25 member Task Force to ensure that the State capital, Port Harcourt, and its environs do not continue to be messed up by cart pushers in whatever disguise. The Task Force to be known as OPERATION ARREST CART PUSHERS AND DESTROY CARTS, OACPDC among others is authorized to arrest such cart pushers anywhere sighted across the State, confiscate their carts and prosecute the offenders under the extant sanitation laws of the state.          The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Douye Diri cannot be sworn in on Friday as Bayelsa Governor because he did not meet the requirements of the Supreme Court. At an ongoing press conference, Oshiomhole declared that “Nobody will be sworn in on Friday as the new governor in Baye lsa state.” Oshiomhole said the Supreme Court judgement did not order that the PDP governorship candidate should be sworn in. “In this case nobody apart from David Lyon meet desire spread as expressed by the Supreme Court. “The next candidate who happens to be a PDP candidate does not have one-quarter of the votes cast in that election.”.
